An Allegorical Presentation Of The Word Of God, Miracle Valley Sunday, 23rd June 2019.
Prologue :
A young man told me he is an engineer. I became anxious and asked him how he got to his present place of work. He told me he applied for the job and after interview he was offered the job.
I asked him “What do you do exactly?” He told me he services the machines of the company and make them efficient in production. So his business company is able to produce goods to target, thus enhancing high level productivity and profit. He said he has been enjoying good salary and constant promotion.
Another told me he is a salesman for his company. So he markets his company’s goods and promotes the product widening the market penetration with an increased profit. For doing this he had enjoyed good salary , an official car and a good office support.
Now I met a young man who came and told me he wants to serve the Lord. And I said to him ” you have an ambitious plan” and told him this decision of his indicates a choice to work for the king of kings.
To be a child of God is a lucrative business, to sell heaven on earth to those who are heaven conscious and want to be with God. As the sales man and engineer, there are kingdom rules of service and rewards for increasing the profit of heaven. The profit of heaven is soul winning. The child of God must lead people to God’s super market, where they will buy without money and lead others to do the same. And in Isaiah 55: 1 – 3, we read :
55:1 Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
55:2 Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.
55:3 Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David. (Isaiah 55:1-3).
THE MESSAGE :
This message is for those on the road to heaven.
The kingdom way is a business, where people buy without money. But what they buy has no earthly price, because our money cannot afford them, but the spirit of God will.
People have to learn from these allegories.
People who work for pay in this world are very committed to the human organisations. Those who work for themselves do the best they can to preserve their own human organisations, because of the monetry profit.
But people however, work they way they please in God’s business, because they do mot see material profit.
The word of God tells us to do anything we do as if unto the Lord, whether God’s business or unto men or unto ourselves and doing these in transparency.
So as people work in organisations and make profit , people who are believers should work for God and make profit in souls of men. God is looking for such people who will be his workmen. Unless you understand the rules of an organisation the service offered will not yield the desired fruit.
God pays His workmen , not like those who work in the world. He gives eternal life to both sowers and reapers.
“And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.” (John 4:36).
Let us never forget that as soul winning is bringing people to the kingdom, it is profitable to God and ourselves and our holiness before the Lord counts also for our individual salvation. You may win souls and never win yourself to God. BEWARE !
Let us win others and also win ourselves personally to meet God in heaven. Let us not be contractors. And the men said variously to God as He refuted their allegiance, NOTE SPECIFICALLY:
7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. (Matthew 7:22-23)
HIGH LEVEL COMMITMENT IN EARTHLY SERVICE.
In this rat race on earth, people put in extra mile to render service in industry and commerce. But are people not lackadaisical in the things of God?
Some people stretch themselves in tiredness, before taking a decision to do the work. of the kingdom , but move briskly when it comes to work to make money. Some will absent from church, but will not absent from work unless they are on the stretcher to the hospital.
Because people do not recognise that heaven is a lucrative business, the things that concern heaven are taken with levity. Some are managing to be in church, and what keeps them in church is because they are having serious prayer requests.
Let us not give to God what we will not give to our earthly boss who pays us money.
God is bigger than our earthly boss and will not accept shoddy worship, when we know the reward is eternal.
In this the Bible encourages us to lay our treasures in heaven. All the earthly money which people gather here will be left here, but all the things we do for kingdom sake will follow us home to God.
I ASK US THIS QUESTION ? :
Which is more lucrative a service, which is rewarded with “eternal honour” or service rewarded with “earthly honour”? Think of your answer and apply.
The choice is ours, but I think I desire nothing which is less than eternal honour.
The engineer knew his job , the sales man understood the product and both succeeded in their jobs. In our road to Christ, we are therefore told here:
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:15).
This is knowing God and being in a position to teach the truth for the salvation of souls. In so doing also the individual cleanses himself for God’s purpose in heaven.
SERVICE BY A NOVICE
The novice is not qualified to serve and particularly the house of God requires people who know the rules to get to heaven. And from 1 Timothy Chapter 3 we read the following :
3:6 Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.
3:7 Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil. (1 Timothy 3:6-7),
The engineer and the salesman were not novices. There is a rule in the business of God, this obviously leads to carefulness in selecting God’s workmen.
JESUS IS THE CHIEF HIRER OF KINGDOM WORKERS.
So He said in Luke , Chater10 :
“After these things the LORD appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come
10:2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest. Luke 10:1-2).
EPILOGUE
The engineers are many yet the companies seek applicants to interview, the sales men are many yet, many are carrying their papers on the streets without a job. Many people are on the streets, yet the labourers in God’s vineyard are few. The harvest of souls is great but few servants of God.
ALL THESE ARE LUCRATIVE JOBS, WHO THEN WILL FIND THEM?
May God find us qualified for His service.
Jesus said:
14:2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. (John 14:2).
There is reward for those who make heaven, who have worked tirelessly as the earthly engineer and salesman.
God gives kingdom houses to His own, the world gives money , influence and earthly recognition. But God gives eternal life.
TODAY MAKE YOUR CHOICE.
Will you work in God’s business for heavenly honour? Then learn the principles for eternal Life. You will be missing a lot of things if you have not learnt this way. May the Almighty God grant you the grace to find Jesus, assuming you have not made up your mind.
But if you are decided for Christ do not relent your effort.
