I HAVE SEEN THE LORD’S GOODNESS.

In Psalm 23:6, David said:
“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.”

The first Sunday in the year 2020, is indeed a great sunday. I feel it is a sunday every faithful child of God should stand before God full of thanks.

I also feel it is a sunday in which God might be sharing New year duties, assignments and blessings among His beloved ones.

ARE YOU READY TO PARTICIPATE?
David said ” surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.”
Psalm 23 recognised some great names of God as you follow the verses.
1. God is the shepherd Ps. 1:1 (Jehovah Raah)
2. God is the Provider Ps.1:1 ( Jireh Genesis 22:1-14)
3. God leads beside the still waters , He is the shepherd.
4. He leads in the path of Righteousness,
He is Jehovah Tsikenu. Ps. 23:3
5.He is also the Elohim (Eternal God).

In the goodness of God are His mercies and compassion.
A man who recites Ps. 23, must know the Lord intimately. His mercy will follow them all the days of their lives.

OUR RECITATION FOR TODAY.
111:1 Praise ye the LORD. I will praise the LORD with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation.
111:2 The works of the LORD are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein.
111:3 His work is honourable and glorious: and his righteousness endureth for ever.
111:4 He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the LORD is gracious and full of compassion.
111:5 He hath given meat unto them that fear him: he will ever be mindful of his covenant
111:6 He hath shewed his people the power of his works, that he may give them the heritage of the heathen.
111:7 The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure.
111:8 They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness.
111:9 He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name.
111:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever. (Psalm 111:1-10).

Acts Compassion Of Jesus.
All the work of Jesus had been through compassion. To see us up to 2020 is one of such compassion. To see us up to this day is one of such compassion. Only fools do not see God in their survival. Only fools see how intelligent they have been. But those who love God see their emptiness without God.

You hear that someone had died and when you hear of the sickness that killed him you remember you once went through that condition.

Some blind people ran after Jesus seeking His compassion. He gave them back their sight and they began to see.

Note the condition of the blind people that came to Jesus.
“So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him. (Matthew 20:34).

There were many blind people in the time of Jesus. If He had issued a blanket command concerning blind people in His time to be healed all of them would have got back their sight, but He had compassion on some.

THOSE WHO TRUST IN GOD!
Those who trust in God see His faithfulness. Many people of our world trust in mangy things outside God. Some trust in spirits and some trust in idols.

WHO SHOULD WE TRUST IN 2020?
The Psalmist did not not mince words in his time and he said :
“I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations. (Psalm 89:1).

111:1 Praise ye the LORD. I will praise the LORD with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation. (Psalm 111:1)
Psalm 111:1 had given us an everlasting clue above:
“Praise ye the LORD. I will praise the LORD with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation.”

Praising God with your whole heart is great, In such a posture you have not reserved you heart to anything, the Almighty God is the God of such people and He will see them through “thick and thin”
If you note that many people close to you have gone and some are having tough times, but you still have hope, know you, ” it is by His mercies you are not consumed”.

Help us oh Lord. Let us in 2020, see your mercies and compassion Amen.
Because Of His Mercies We Are Not Consumed.

Read Lamentations 3 :
3:22 It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
3:23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
3:24 The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
3:25 The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.
3:26 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD. (Lamentations 3 : 22-26).
