A Sermon For The Encouragement Of The Christian In The Time Of Trial.
Miracle Valley Sermon concluded at Port Harcourt for Sunday 11th August 2019.
For the people of God under persecution, the Lord will do a strange thing in the corridor of your enemies as He did in the corridor of Pharoah.
Simple action : Watch and Pray.
THE LEAD VERSES FOR THE SERMON :
“Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as their’s also was.
But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience, Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me. Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.” (2 Timothy 3 : 8 – 12).
EXPERIENCE OF BELIEVERS ARE SAME FOR ALL TIMES.
It has never been different from the time of the children of Israel in Egypt to the time of the Aposte Paul at the places he mentioned in these lead verses and so for Christians in our present time.
The modern believer cannot be an exception, else there will be no yardstick, to measure our faith in the Lord Jesus.
THOSE WHO OPPOSE THE FAITH SHALL PROGRESS NO MORE.
They opposed Moses in the wilderness, but God gave him victory. If we shall continue in the FAITH and in obedience those who resist us shall bow.
God shall turn the captivity of His PEOPLE to victory. Infact the enemies of God’s people shall be in their captivity from the arms of the Lord.
“That then the LORD thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath scattered thee.” (Deuteronomy 30 : 3)
Jannes and JAMBRES are a typology of the magicians who stood against Moses with magical power until God stopped them. They are similitudes of such powers today in our Christian experience and God will stop them. They will progress no further in our lives and service to the Lord. They will not continue in our nation as the people of God keep the fire of prayer in various denominations.
God will gather us in victory and recovery as we keep faith in Him.

7:11 Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers: now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments.
7:12 For they cast down every man his rod, and they became serpents: but Aaron’s rod swallowed up their rods.
7:22 And the magicians of Egypt did so with their enchantments: and Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, neither did he hearken unto them; as the LORD had said.
7:23 And Pharaoh turned and went into his house, neither did he set his heart to this also. (Exodus 7 : 11 – 12, 22 -23.)
THE PHILOSOPHY IN JANNES AND JAMBRES.
Satan is a diversionary being, setting up obstacles against the work of the people of God. Those magicians of Egypt were regarded as JANNES and JAMBRES and in our circumstance today, God will send His power to swallow the power of our enemies. Pharoah and his people went through ten serious plagues in the process and Israel went out of the land of Egypt. The trial of our faith is like JANNES and JAMBRES or the magicians of Egypt against Moses in the presence of Pharoah.
GOD DEALS WITH HIS ENEMIES IN A PERCULIAR MANNER.
When God deals with His enemies He wil not stop until it gets to a disastrous conclusion.
After Israel left Egypt Pharoah sent his best of chariots after them, and are those chariots not at the bottom of the Red Sea today, with the bones of the captains of Pharioh’s army?
God never finishes with His enemies in simple ways. He is their creator, but will never leave remnants of the wicked except He will raise new descendants to begin afresh in obedience.
ONLY VICTORIOUS PEOPLE ARE CROWNED.
We need victory to wear the crown. When God overcomes for us, we shall make progress. The gang up of the anti – Christ, whether be it against individual faithfuls or our faith as a unity across the nations shall fail.
In such similar circumstance of oppression Paul said :
“Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. (2 Timothy 4 : 8).
Read 1 Corinthians 1 : 8
1:8 Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Titus the servant of God said:
2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; (Titus 2 : 13).
THE EVENTS BEFORE THE RAPTURE.
As the rapture closes up we need more endurance to scale through, God knows what He will achieve in this time, when men who hate Him plan mischief against followers of His way.
And Paul the Apostle reminds us:
1:9 God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.1:10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. (1 Corinthians 1 : 8 – 10).
THE POWER OF ONE MIND IN CHRIST.
It is easy to break one broom stick than to break a bunch of broom sticks. You can give that a try. Christian unity should go beyond denominational syndrome in this hour of gang up in trial of Christians.
CHRISTIAN UNITY OF MEN OF LIKE MINDS.
In the same vein, when husbands and their wives or their children or loved ones stand in righteous faith and in strong resolve, Jannes and Jambres shall proceed no further.
As the staff of Aaron swallowed the rods of the Egyptian magicians, so shall the powers of the enemies be swallowed Amen.
