JESUS IS THE DOOR

Preamble :

LEADING QUOTATIONS :

John 10 : 9 and Rev. 3 : 20.

Jesus also stands by the door of our heart. There is a mystery in  this message of today. Jesus invites us to come in through the door for He is the door. He tells us also that He is knocking at the door  and if anyone  let Him in, He will come and sup with him. So we have  the mystery of two doors, Jesus and ourselves,  beside each other. We can go in to Him and He can come into us. This bonding gives us tremendous blessing. May God permit us access to  this unity through this message. Amen.

THE MESSAGE :

There is no entrance except there is a door.

In very important places on earth, some entrance gates are mounted by security guards, who monitor or screen those going in or out. Is it  possible that God could set a door, where anything can go in and out, without being monitored ?

Jesus said:  “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.” (John 10 : 9).

Those who go in the door of Christ have:

1. Salvation ( spiritual)

2. Liberty ( will not be under oppression or bondage.)

3. They will find pasture i. e.  He will provide. He is Jehovah Jireh.

I guess those who will enter in through this door are those who desire Him. It also means to me that Jesus will not restrict those who desire or hunger to enter through the door.

People have to choose to stop Him,  or  restrict Him or allow themselves into Christ. Choosing Christ  is the password.

There is therefore an open door for the child of God seeking the presence of God. Our needs and expectations are found  in Jesus.

The rabbit lives in holes, which  protects it  from unwanted intruders. It comes out at regulated times to gather nuts and other foods,  which it carries to the hole or fort,  which it has dug into the ground.

Rabbits make holes,  but God builds fortresses for His own and puts a door. It is different from your amoured buidings with  extra –  sensory security systems ( perhaps cameras).

 The Psalmist said:

“For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name’s sake lead me, and guide me.” (Psalm 31 : 3).

When we enter in God and live in Him , we come out as time demands and go about in this life, we count on His leading for we know not what lies ahead of us.

God keeps us for His name’s sake, His love and faithfulness for  trusting Him , not because we have done well. So the Psalmist has the humility to say : ” therefore for thy name’s sake save me….”

God is the fort of His people. If we do not trust God or desire to live in  obedience to Him , we may not want to go  in through the door. People do not want to go to homes,  where they feel they don’t fit in. This could be the case with many who do not want to live in obedience with God.

 And Jesus said :

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.” (John 10:1).

Many people want access to God through other methods other than Him. They may think that through  their own  method,  conceived in  their heart, that God will receive them. They want to get the blessings,  without following due process, and Jesus concluded by calling them robbers. They will not be able to receive. They want to take what does not belong to them. Some want to be counted as God’s children or messengers of the gospel, without passing through the door.  Jesus has made access easy;  why do we make it burdensome? May God help us.

IN THE BOOK OF  REVELATION TO JOHN JESUS SAID :  “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” (Revelation 3:20).

There is a promise :

“I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.”  (Revelation 3 : 8).

God knows all of us. No man can hide before God. He has set an ooen door for His own.

God opens doors, which no can can shut. This door is opened for those who have not denied His name.  It is opened for you.

Not obeying God is the only  way of denying Him and many things will go wrong in your life if you do so.

YOU CANNOT BE SO REMOVED FROM GOD, IT SHOULD NOT BE YOUR PORTION .

Turn to Jesus and invite Him to your life,  it is simple confessing Him.

God opens doors of evangelism.

“Furthermore, when I came to Troas to preach Christ’s gospel, and a door was opened unto me of the Lord,” (2 Corinthians 2 :12).

Many times the devil tries to hinder evangelism. When God opens the door as He did for Paul, the open door cannot be hidden. Therefore we need to pray for open door in all we do.

“But I will tarry at Ephesus until Pentecost. For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.” (1 Corinthians 16 : 8-9).

We need to wait for God to open doors. Wait with prayer, we need patience indeed, and more often we need to follow the leading of the Holy Ghost. Many will never listen to the voice of God and because of this many are in trouble today.

Greater success comes when God opens the door,  we must know also that there are adversaries,  but God fights them,  when He gives an open door and we can go out and come in at will. We definitely need an open door. Even in the gospel or evangelism  there are adversaries.

WE HAVE AN UNSHAKEABLE PROMISE IF WE ABIDE.

Continue In Prayer :

“Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;  Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:” (Colossians 4 : 2 – 3)

SUMMARY:

God has given us an open door,  if we desire it we get in.  He told us He stands by the door and if we open the door He will  come in and dine with us. If we open our hearts God will come and bless us. So being surrounded by these astounding witnesses, it appears we would have no excuses,  if we do not take these opportunities now.

If you have  entered the open door of Christ, why should you still carry your loads or live with problems? Will you not drop them in God’s house? And if you hear the knock on your door, which is coming from Christ, what hinders you from opening the door or  your heart to let him in.

If you miss to live by this message,  which you are reading or hearing now ,  do not forget the problems you are going through can only be removed, if you get in to Jesus or let Him come in by opening your heart for Him.

MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND MAKE YOU A VESSEL AS YOU GET INTO HIS TABERNACLE. AMEN.
