LET US TALK MORE ABOUT JESUS

(Luke 24 :13 – 31)
Introduction: On The Road To Emmaus:
IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THESE:
(1) The disciples walked with an unknown person for three furlongs, chatted with Him, but did not know Him until the breaking of bread and their eyes were opened. Many of us say we see even the great prophets of our time, but do they really see or are they walking by the imagination that there is a road?
We need to ask God to open our eyes that we may see. That man you greet every morning, do you think you truely know who He is? These are The mysteries of the events on the road to Emmaus. Let us ask God to open our eyes, where necessary that we may see.

(2) The journey to Emmaus can also be likened to the rapture ( 2nd Coming Of Christ).
On the day of rapture some may be on evangelism to win souls for Christ, while some could be scheming for vengeance on how to deal with an avowed enemy.
WHO AMONG THE TWO LOOSES OR WILL LOOSE AT THE RAPTURE ?
But on the road to Emmaus two of the disciples as they walked to the city spoke of what happened about Jesus.
People who hear us speak, can pick information. An unknown passerby heard what they said and drew near to hear, He became inquisitive. You know sometimes the walls have ears. People get inquisitive in their minds, about the things they hear us speak. They can grow in faith, by what they hear you saying as they pass you by.
Note the dialogue, between the risen Christ and some disciples in Luke 24 : 13 – 31 below. You can read this later, but let us draw the essentials, of why I am lifting this long passage. The manner of our conversation counts very much before God.
Note:
4:12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. (1 Timothy 4 : 12)
Let us be examples in words and conversation.
It is possible, we are not aware that we could be discussing with angels sometimes unawares, but due to our frame of mind, we might disappoint the angel, who is sent to bless us, because of our rude utterances.
Often, there could be failure on our part not to recognise the way our actions in word might reach out to people in this world. So for many reasons we cannot communicate the happenings from God to our society.
We may
(1) desecrate some saints of God, before an unknown angel on divine visitation.
(2) We could also approve them and earn divine blessings for doing so.
THE UNKNOWN ANGEL IN THE EMMAUS DISCOURSE IS JESUS.
But for today’s sermon, this unknown angel we go through in this sermon .is Jesus, who heard what those saints, testified about Him, before He disclosed Himself to them later on.
LET US TALK MORE ABOUT JESUS.
Evangelism necessarily should not be seen, (1) when we walk out with a defined purpose to preach.
(2) Evangelism could be those unplanned sharing of God’s word with people.
(3) It could come through singing praises of Him, who saved us, as you walk past in your street or anywhere you go.
After Jesus revealed Himself to those saints, while breaking and sharing the bread , He disappeared from their sight , and their eyes were opened and they knew He was the Christ.
Christ also talked back to these saints and went back to Bible history of what was spoken of Himself.
May it please God to speak back to us as we testify of Him AMEN.
May this experience be yours also AMEN.
If you have a divine encounter and you know it, very great, but could it be possible that people will have this encounter and not recognise that God passed by them?
HOW GLAD WOULD THEY HAVE BEEN?
I guess they were glad. But if they had spoken thrash, they would have lost their blessing and walk away very ashamed.
Go back and read 1 Timothy 4 : 12.
LET US TALK MORE ABOUT JESUS AND THE GOSPEL AMEN.

***********
24:13 And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs.
24:14 And they talked together of all these things which had happened.
24:15 And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.
24:16 But their eyes were holden that they should not know him.24:17 And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad?
24:18 And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days?
24:19 And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people:
24:20 And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him.
24:21 But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done.
24:22 Yea, and certain women also of our company made us astonished, which were early at the sepulchre;
24:23 And when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, which said that he was alive.
24:24 And certain of them which were with us went to the sepulchre, and found it even so as the women had said: but him they saw not.
24:25 Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:
24:26 Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?
24:27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
24:28 And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further.
24:29 But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them.
24:30 And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them.
24:31 And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight. (Luke 24 : 13 – 31).
May God bless you for making this discourse a blessing. Pray that your godly conversations, fall into hearing ears, even though unawares to you. AMEN.
