NOT FOR SENTIMENTS PLEASE !

This time is not the time for QUACKERY.

In trying moments,  good wishes to a suffering man could send waves of courage. Such wishes could bring God’s compassion on the suffering man. Wishes are heartfelt desire in a situation. But wishes are not prophesies. Prophecies speak about the mind of God concerning an issue, things to come and/ or things past. We should rather have our wishes as prayers offered to God than to say, ” God said ….”,  for He  will not find such a person guiltless.

SENTIMENTS DEFINED :

Setting apart other definitions, let us define sentiment for the purpose of this sermon to mean either of these two words “OPINON or IDEA”. We have come to the edge when we are to set opinions or ideas aside and deal with realities. This time is not  the era for sentimental prophecies ( idea prophecies),  of things. Let us hear from God,  because He is not an idealist, but what He says will be. In the epistle of Paul to the Hebrews it is written :

“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12).

THE MESSAGE.

NOTE THESE EVENTS :

  1. The case of Hezekiah

19:20 Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, That which thou hast prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria I have heard.

19:22 Whom hast thou reproached and blasphemed? and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice, and lifted up thine eyes on high? even against the Holy One of Israel.

19:32 Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning the king of Assyria, He shall not come into this city, nor shoot an arrow there, nor come before it with shield, nor cast a bank against it.

19:33 By the way that he came, by the same shall he return, and shall not come into this city, saith the LORD. (2 Kings 19 :20,22,32 and 33).

The prophecy of Isaiah to Hezekiah was not an idea, it was real. What happened is history.  History is not written on ideas or opinions, but on facts or events. May God speak to our seers this time Amen.

  1. The case of Jehoshaphat.

Judah was invaded by the Moabites, Ammonites and Mount Seir (Edomites or the people of Esau).

20:1 It came to pass after this also, that the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them other beside the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle.

20:2 Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea on this side Syria; and, behold, they be in Hazazontamar, which is Engedi.

20:13 And all Judah stood before the LORD, with their little ones, their wives, and their children.20:15 And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s. 2 Chronicles 20:1-2,13,15.

The prophet said the battle was not theirs,  but that of the Lord, and it was so. God spoke to the people and what happened is history. May the Lord speak to Nigeria  Amen.

The prophet ( prophets ) of God presiding in the time of Hezekiah and Jehoshaphat spoke the mind of God. What did they say?  Isaiah in the time of Hezekiah  ( 2 Kings 19:20) and Jahaziel in the time of Jehoshaphat  (2 Chronicles 20) spoke as oracles of God.

Speak to us Lord in assurance,  that you will fight for us. Lord, You have Your methods by which you will deliver your children Amen.

  1. Balak asks Balaam to curse Israel.

What did God say?

23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

23:20 Behold, I have received commandment to bless: and he hath blessed; and I cannot reverse it. (Numbers 23:19-20).

We must note that God will not lie to us. God will also not withdraw His blessings. We need to obey Him and our enemeis will have cause to leave us alone to worship our God.

John the divine said ” You are strong,  because your sins are forgiven”.

2:12 I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name’s sake.

2:13 I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because ye have known the Father.

2:14 I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one. (1 John 2 : 12 – 14).

Christians are not unaware of the grace of God to salvation. May God give us grace, this time and forgive us our sins.

There are times we have to fast and also times to pray.  This time we need to fast and pray. Let us seek  the face of God. If God speaks about a people for good,  it will surely come to pass. Has He spoken and will He not bringing it  to pass?.  God is not man that He should lie.

The enemy of God’s people always mock the name of God in their secret enclaves. We must never help them to fuel their pride by not praying, or cling on sentiments of His power. Let us give God the opportunity to speak to our enemies as He did in the time of Hezekiah and Jehoshaphat. The Word of God will surely come to pass.

When God spoke in the prophecy of Habbakkuk He said “Not by power, not by might, but by my Spirit”.

Let us allow the Lord in times like this to speak to us in the way He spoke through the prophets of old.

Let us shun sentimental prophesying which when they fail to happen we begin to give explanations.

No man has an explanation when expectations fail other than  to say “God did not speak what we heard”. We could have been merely sentimental.

THE NEED OF THE MOMENT.

  1. Let us ask God to forgive us our sins. There are serious sins across the nation. Let us bother more about the sins of believers for this is what God is looking at. God was not looking at the whole of Sodom to save the land. He was asking for just a few of them to move His hands to stay back the destruction.
  2. Let us not go to mediums to tell us the mind of our God. Mediums will never say the whole thing, because they are not ominiscience.

God is angry about QUACKERY in some Christian groups so the enemy can brag about with his  power, because God is yet to speak.

God does not fight the way men do, but by His spoken word He does what He does.

  1. Let us fast and pray. Let the christian family in the whole of Nigeria declare a day of national mourning, before the Lord in connection with the threats over the lives of our peoples. Nigeria has been given a date, when attacks will rise every where to innocent people in their homes. Let God say what He will do everywhere also  for the weak ones who can not defend themselves,  the way things are arranged in our mother land in the eye of man.

Human beings are monopotent, but God is Ominipotent. Human beings are limited but God is never limited. The enemies of the land are limited in all spheres of life.

Let us move God to say something.  Let us move God to set a standard against the enemy of His people as He did  in the times of:

  1. Johashaphat

2 Hezekiah.

Thank you Lord. When your people cry answer them. Papa God send your angel to rescue your people. We are on our knees. Amen.
