(Call it Religious Tribalism).
Men send epidemics or Virus ( missiles) to friends, who differ in political opinion, or differ in church denomination. You may be surprised about this expression. In a nation where people do not teach love they may want to eliminate rival faiths. How does this differ from sending missies? In a world where people hate other Christians ,how does this differ from sending missiles?
In a village where people engage in afflicting themselves how far is this far from kinsman tribalism?
Even in a church where members of the same faith hate themselves, how is that different from believers in nepotism? If we realise that people in one church hall are in the tribe of Christ, my argument will be much clearer. While speaking about the Christians as a body of Christ the epistle to the Ephesians reads :
4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,4:6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.4:7 But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. (Ephesians 4 : 4 – 7).
This repetition of “one” over and over again in several respects draws emphasis we must not neglect. But the christian faith has suffered greatly in nepotism and this is why we find it hard to fight as one body today.
God’s Position Towards His People.
Irrespective of the fact that people hate God and God spoke about that ( Ps. 81 : 13 – 15 ), He had not wiped out His people (He stiil calls them His people), and would deliver and restore those who repent. This means that God would have given them victory over their enemies.
Human beings do not keep promises. They can make promises to their kinsmen and deny those who are not their friends among the same kinsmen some help.
Leaders will tell people what they will do for them,when they win elections, because they need their help, but after that they might afflict them with epidemics or grievious viruses. This expression here is paradoxical. Do not seek my explanation on paper.
They could go back to self preservation and shut off those they can call men and women, who are not resourceful. That is the way human beings think.
The Biggest Sin In Christianity Is Disunity.
There could be disunity among unbelievers, because they do not know Christ. Unfortunately, the church of Christ on earth is in grievous disunity among the faithfuls and between the cleric/pulpits.
But Christ left a living example to us, that we be united as He and the Father are and this unity we behold in the Trinity.
17:11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. (.John 17 : 11)
IN A WORLD OF DiSCRIMINATION.
Jesus said to His disciples that those who are not against them are for them. How did this come?
The disciples saw some, who were casting out demons in the name of Jesus and they forebade them. But Jesus said do not forbid them for they who cast out demons in my name are not against me, but are on.my side..
There is much of hate among servants of God and particularly those with large congregations. If the ministers of God preach the same Christ, could they hate themselves? I will think those who hate fellow servants of God or members of other denominations do not have the Christ.
Read the following Scriptures :
9:38 And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us.9:39 But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me.9:40 For he that is not against us is on our part. (Mark 9 : 38 – 40).
Religious nepotism is the architect of Satan to divide the believers, estrange them so they cannot fight the common enemies of the gosoel as a united front.
Those who ought to stand for the believers could decide to get settled in their comfort and so keep quiet
Satan is pulling Aside Believers through denominationalism :.
Jesus said :
6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.6:38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. (John 6 : 37 – 38).
People that come to Jesus may come through one denomination or the other, and that does not make them a different body of Christ. Today the ministers are just contented with a mega assembly. Unfortunarely they are not able to meet with spiritual needs of the catechumen, because they do not know them as individuals.
Some are known because of their position as money spinners, but what of the poor ones who stand like Lazarus at the gate of the king? Infant the servants of God are sent to bring comfort to the poor and suffering ones.
Are believers doing the will of God if they engage in Religious Nepotism?
YOU SHOULD NOT FIGHT YOURSELVES,
PRAY INSTEAD FOR YOURSELVES.
This is the only great way we can overcome our enemies, when we are united in purpose and pray for one another.
5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.(James 5 : 16).
Instead of cross fighting among Christians let us engage in cross praying for Christendom at this troubled time so we might experience the mighty hand of God to convert the adversary.
In addition to praying for each other, let us also teach holiness across the Christian world, let us support one another irrespective of denomination.
Did Lot, while he was in Sodom. know that Abraham was interceding for him? You never know whose prayer will move the hand of God to save even you.
So keep your doors open for the angels of God to send help to you.
This is the time to get united in Christ. Amen.
PRAYER FOR TODAY.
Lord God I pray today, that You give Your children love for each other. Those who fight us are doing so ignorantly, because we are Christians not because of our denominations. Give us the power to speak breakthrough into all Christian homes. Protect us Lord and heal our lands Amen.
