THE WILL OF MAN, NOT THE WILL OF GOD!

Miracle Valley SERMON, October 27th, 2019.

The will of man will not glorify the name of God. For that reason each time we pray let us ask for the will of God. And may the will of God be fulfilled in our lives Amen.

PROLOGUE :

Notes:

(i) Abraham did the will of God and was called a friend of God.

(ii) David did the will of God and God said he was a man after His heart.

(iii) Absalom did not do the will of God and he was counted for nothing in the line of his father David.

(iv) Jonah refused to obey God and boarded a boat to Tashish and was returned to Nineveh in the belly of a fish after three days  to do the will of the Lord. ( Jonah 1:1-17)

(v) Daniel did the will of God and ruled in the land of exile as a Prince.

(vi) Pharoah did not do the will of God and God made him to know He is a Mighty God, above the gods of the Egyptians. (Rom. 9:15-17)

A lot of people are not in  the will of God.

4:17 This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.

(Daniel 4:17).

GOD WORKS IN  HIS WILL.

Kingdoms rise and fall. People rise and fall and some rise and remain,  some are there, but being used of God and are never known or celebrated. The best is to live in the will of God.

1:11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:1:13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. (John 1 :11-13).

God has a place in  the life of men. Even though God created all men some are born into the will of God. Why will, some accept God  and some  do not accept God? Many attend church worship, but some are not changing? Many have not received Him, while in the church, because they are  still living secret lives, outside the will of God laid down for all men to follow.

Many are therefore not living in the will of God.

God will have mercy on some and not all, the reason best known to the Lord, The merciful shall obtain mercy.

9:15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.9:16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.9:17 For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth.

Everything about us depends on the will of God. Some run and are not crowned,  they may have run outside the will of God, this does not suggest God is unjust, for  after running they are not crowned.

(Romans 9:15-17).

IT IS GOOD TO PRAY FOR THE WILL OF GOD.

Jesus asked us to pray for the will of God to be done on earth, and of course in our lives.

6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.6:10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. (Matthew 6:9-10).

(i) COULD ANY THING WORK IF NOT THE WILL OF GOD?

(ii) CAN A MAN SUCCEED IN WHAT HE DOES IF NOT DOING THE WILL OF GOD?

(iii) CAN HUMAN THOUGHT AND ACTION AGAINST GOD’S WILL WORK?

I am sure that if men will do whatever they like to  do and succeed, they will speak in their hearts to say God is not God.

But you must know that all men cry. When the poor man cries it is not a serious one, when compared with the cry of the rich folks.

The pains of the poor are not to be compared with the pains of the prosperous evil people. You never know the tears of the rich, but the tears of the poor man is not considered as anything. Some one said ” Pray for me and the man of God said ‘ this is nothing compared with my own pains'”.

Rich people,  who do not worship the Lord,  have terrible cries,  because they have a lot at  stake, they have worshipped God often,  without fearing Him and against His will.

Note this :

7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. (Matthew 7:21-23)

The above dialogue is just a reflection, that some have got mighty achievements, but  not recognised by God. Human beings  could have adored them, but  they had worked outside the will of our Mighty God. Therefore servants of God who say they work miracles, must beware.

God  may have despised them in His heart waiting for the day of His reward.

They did mighty works  not in the will of God, but  have used evil ways to do what  they did.

THOSE WHO DO THE WILL OF GOD ABIDETH FOR EVER.

2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

2:17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. (1 John 2:16-17).

Everything which is done not in the will of God will pass away. But those things done in  God’s will  abide unto eternity.

So we have to struggle to do the will of God. We have to ask God to reveal His will to us if we must please Him.

To work against things people  do in the way of God,  because it is different from whstvyou believe ,  is not how to know His will,  else we will be committin sins.

NOTE WHAT JESUS SAYS ON DOING GOD’S WILL.

A man can promote himself if he sets a doctrine or instruction different from the man who sent him on an errand.

If we set aside the commandments of the man who sent us, we are not doing the will of He that sent us. Obey divine rules.

Those who discourage people from  doing the law or fail to rebuke sin,  or support those who do not do the  will of God, are accountable to God for the sins of those people.

Servants of God must be mindful about the will of God. Let us ask ourselves when we speak or advise people, if what we are telling them, is the will of God. Our mind can deceive us, if we are not preaching His word let us know we are not in His will.

Any contrariness to the will of God will not work His glory.

7:16 Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.7:17 If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.7:18 He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him. (John 7:16-18).

In this life let us  not want people to follow any example which is not tied to  salvation. You can teach  knowledge to help people to  live a fruitful, life here, it is in order.

But please do not teach people what is against the will of God no matter how much they will prosper in them. Everyone will account for work done,

Jesus said : “And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” (Matthew 7:23).

It is painful to know what the result of falling outside the will of God will be. God save Israel.

Prayer:  Lord I want to do thy will and not live in  the deception of my heart. Help me Lord to walk in  thy will in Jesus name Amen.
