( This question was ministered to me early Saturday morning, as I prepared for 2nd Saturday prayer concert at Miracle Valley. Some points or reasons, why this is so, were given to me as listed below in the forthcoming message.. It is a serious issue and that is why it was unveiled to me.
Note the words of Moses unto the Lord:
“And it came to pass, when the ark set forward, that Moses said, Rise up, LORD, and let thine enemies be scattered; and let them that hate thee flee before thee”. (Numbers 10 : 35)
Let the reader or hearer beware, for there could be some, who are enemies of God, while in the church or in the society. May we never unknowingly be one in Jesus name Amen.)

In ordinary description, we generally describe some people as enemies of God. This is said when we note the activity of such people against the Word of God, the life of such people against all humanity makes them ungodly.
“An ungodly man diggeth up evil: and in his lips there is as a burning fire”. (Proverbs 16 :27)
The ungodly man is an enemy of God.
Even God Himself describes some people as His enemies. In respect of evil done to mankind or against God by the ungodly, God says “vengeance is mine”. That God will reward the sinner and bless the righteous, do signify that He has enemies.
And God said :
To me belongeth vengeance and recompence; their foot shall slide in due time: for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste”. (Deut. 32:35)
God does not want human beings to fight back for themselves. For many reasons not understood by us, God tells us that vengeance belongs to Him. But can God fight for you if you are not His child? Personally I know God fights injustice no matter who is involved. If you kill a sinner God will require his blood from your hand.
Who then are enemies of God:
- Sinners : those who choose their own way (all idolaters and cult and evil workers Gal. 5 :20 – 21)
- Haters of the things that pertain to God. “And it came to pass, when the ark set forward, that Moses said, Rise up, LORD, and let thine enemies be scattered; and let them that hate thee flee before thee”. (Numbers 10 : 35)
This was said in the gathering of a people called by God. So not all who are in church are friends of God. The open world encloses a myriad of enemies of God. Some are indeed His enemies and He God will deal with them.
- Persecutors of the gospel of Jesus Christ. (John 5 : 16)
- Haters of God’s people.
“And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved”. (Mark 13 : 13)
5.The immoral (the effeminates Rev. 21 : 8)
- Mockers of God’s Word.
“How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts”. (Jude 1 : 18)
- Murderers (Rev. 21 : 8)
HOW DOES GOD APPROACH HIS ENEMIES:
“For the LORD shall judge his people, and repent himself for his servants, when he seeth that their power is gone, and there is none shut up, or left”. (Deut 32 :36)
God can repent Himself of His word to punish sinners, if sinners will repent from their wickedness. God will not bless sinners , but the only promise He has for them is to punish them. Thus sinners in all dimensions are enemies of God, because He will not bless them.
“And he shall say, Where are their gods, their rock in whom they trusted, Which did eat the fat of their sacrifices, and drank the wine of their drink offerings? let them rise up and help you, and be your protection. (Deut 32 : 37 – 38)
Idol worshippers are the enemies of God. And when they run into trouble which only God Himself will deliver them, He will refer them to be delivered by their gods to whom they offered sacrifices.
God boasts of His superiority over His enemies, over every creature and over every spirit or gods.
And God said:
“See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand. For I lift up my hand to heaven, and say, I live for ever. If I whet my glittering sword, and mine hand take hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to mine enemies, and will reward them that hate me.” (Deut. 32 : 39 – 41).
Idol worshippers hate God and He makes them know that He kills and makes alive and there is not any beside Him. and if He takes His glittering sword He will exert vengeance on His enemies and they that hate Him. Idol worshippers are enemies of God.
Is there any way out from the vengeance of God? If we will turn away from sin, which means to repent, God will slow His anger from dealing ruthlessly with haters of His Being.
God’s Promise To His enemies. And this is the highest promise to those who disobey Him. Note it :
“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death”. (Revelation 21 : 8).
People who teach forgiveness as a major sermon, without talking about the basis for forgiveness, are deceitful preachers. Jesus died on the cross to pave way for the forgiveness of sins for those who confess and repent of their sins. Before Christ shed His blood, sin attracted instant justice because God could not behold sin; there was no provision for confession or repentance and pardon at that era.. To acknowledge sin at that time was necessary evidence in the law of Moses for punishment.
Sacrifices of animals were necessary at that tine to cover sin, so that our holy God can overlook sin and allow His blessings to flow unhindered. OfferIng of rams did not indicate repentance and the animal died in place of the sinner.
God today can repent Himself and wave instant punisment on the repentant ones, but in no wise will He not punish sin. Those who repent have run into the pool of Jesus blood and their sins will be forgiven. It is necessary that repented people should not be dogs who go back to their vomit to eat it again.
Except this condition of absolute repentance prevails in the life of any person (running to the pool of Jesus Blood and remaining pure) such an one has becone an enemy of God. We must beware.
