Food For Thought :
The first son said I will not go, but afterwards he repented and he went; the second said I will go sir, but he did not go. Who of the two obeyed the father? The key word in our lives today is the word “Repentance”.

Words of Admonition on the subject .
The work we do in this life will determine the reward we receive both on earth and in the life to come. Perhaps we talk of reward, call it blessing, but let us know that reward depends on the work we do and the spirit behind doing them. Repenting from the evils we have done and remaining glued to God, determines how much He God will care for us.
Note the following scriptures :
Parable of the two sons:
21:28 But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard.
21:29 He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went.
21:30 And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not.
21:31 Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.
21:32 For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him. (Matthew 21: 28 – 32).
The greatest undoing of any man is hypocrisy. I am a child of God, many are saying so today but how many indeed are fearing God. You pledge to serve God with all your heart, that is fine, but you do not appear to stand on that pledge. Who do you think God is?

WHICH OF THE TWO SONS ARE YOU?.
You say ” I am a child of God, and wicked people ( harlots, thieves and many others) are accepting God repenting and getting to do the will of God and you see this happen and you will not repent; what do you expect God to do, to bless you or to leave you in your folly? Jesus raised this issue in (Matthew 28 : 32). Read this carefully.
Eternity to serve God is not lip service, but sincerity in purpose with diligence unto the Lord.
TWO FATHERS TO ONE PERSON :
8:37 I know that ye are Abraham’s seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you.
8:38 I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.
8:39 They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham’s children, ye would do the works of Abraham.
8:40 But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.
8:41 Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.
8:42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. (John 8 : 37 – 42).
Many say “we are God’s children” , but they stand against those who preach about that father they claim to be their father. And Jesus said ” Ye do the deed of your father” ( John 8 : 41). Satan has taken control of many people such that while they claim to be the children of God they do not obey Him. You must be careful about your connectivity with God. There is nothing about our lives God does not know.
WHO INDEED IS YOUR FATHER.
Jesus said to them:
“If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.” (John 8 : 42)
If God is our father indeed as we often pray and say ” Our Father who art in heaven …..” ,
then we will do his work and He will bless us.
And in John 9 : 4 Jesus said :
“I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. (John 9 :4).
Jesus had a set time to be on earth, and all of us have also a set times to be on this earth, for heaven is the ultimate goal. We must do the best, while this life lingers, for when death comes we can do no more works. All human beings are judged at death. Each day is a minus from the total time, which God has alloted to us on earth. What did you do yesterday? Did you please the eternal Father or satan the earthly father?
Our work and works !
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. (John 14 : 22 – 23).
You want a blessing, or you want a reward all these are fine, but Jesus requires us to do what He did and even more and His blessings will proceed to us.
YOUR LIGHT IS YOUR WORK.
“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. (Matthew 5 : 14 – 16)
Your light is your work. If you do evil, that will be the light which you will radiate to men. If you do good, that will be the light which you will radiate also to men. But in all this Jesus said ” “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (Matthew 5 : 16). Let the life we live glorify God.
