The equipment of the believer.
We wrestle not against flesh and blood.
We wrestle against spiritual wickedness in the high places. We cannot face this wrestler, with weapons of the flesh and blood, but rather with weapons beyond the power of the flesh. The enemy is described as ” spiritual wickedness in the high places”
Our reference scripture:
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” (Ephesians 6:12).
Who do we face:
1. Principalities
2. Against powers
3. Against the rulers of the darkness
4. Against spiritual wickedness in the high places.
These powers are superhuman, but are not omnipotential, only God is omnipotential.
The weapons needed to fight them cannot be carnal. You can fight flesh and blood with physical weapons but you cannot fight spiritual beings with the arm of flesh.
We cannot fight them with anything humanly connected. AII our friends put together, our country or wealth, cannot cannot face the angelic hosts of satan, often used by demonised human beings. In a majority of cases principalities and powers sre used by human beings.
Note this scripture:
“(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds)”
(2 Corinthians 10 : 4).
The arm of flesh will fail us. So we cannot trust our own. We have to go higher than ourselves to acquire weapons, which are not ordinary, but which are divinely denominated.
“Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand”. (Eph. 6:13).
There is an evil day in the life of each person, when angelic forces of satan bring down their arsenals and here I pray thus: “On You Lord we put our trust and hope, that even when he or she or me, do not know that day or moment, You Lord will raise a standard against them for our sake, Amen.”
THE WHOLE ARMOUR OF GOD:
We have to fight these powers with the whole armour of God.
– 1) Loins girt with truth:
We must stand for the truth to face these forces. God is truth. We have to be born again.
– 2) breastplate of righteousness
Righteousness exalt a nation.
“Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people”. (Proverbs 14:34)
Sin is a reproach. May our sins never reproach us before the Lord. We cannot fight principalities, who occupy the domain of sin, while living with them in their world of sin. We must be sanctified or separated. Sanctify us oh Lord for in You we trust. AMEN.
– 3) feet shod with gospel of peace
The gospel of Jesus is a weapon. As long as our feet are truely in the gospel, we shall trample on the powers of darkness.
“Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.” (Psalm 91:13)
– 4) shield of faith:

– 5) helmet of salvation ( Word of God)
“But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation”. (1 Thessalonians 5:8)
– 6) Word of the spirit
Quoting the word of God is a powerful tool to defeat the devil. Jesus used the Word to defeat the powers of satan and we cannot be an exception. God is the Word.
With the Word as follows, Jesus defeated the devil.
Reading from the gospel according to Luke :
4:4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
4:8 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
4:12 And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. (Luke 4: 4,8 and 12)
– 7) Prayer:
There is power in prayer. With prayer we can dismantle all the weapons of the wicked. (Ephesians 6:18)
Read the following Scriptures:
6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
6:15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; (Ephesians 6:12-18).
Essential ingredients needed while carrying the armour.
1. -supplication in the spirit. Thanksgiving unto God is a great weapon. Thanking God for victories won is great source of power and strength.
2. watchfulness – the foe has the strategy of trying to know when we are lax so he can strike. We must be watchful.
3. perseverance . There are many things to endure, so we must not loose our focus.
THERE WILL BE A NEW SONG.
Reading from Exodus Chapter 15:
15:1 Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the LORD, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.
15:2 The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father’s God, and I will exalt him.
15:3 The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name.
15:4 Pharaoh’s chariots and his host hath he cast into the sea: his chosen captains also are drowned in the Red sea. (Exodus15 :14)
And for Miriam the sister of Aaron it was a day to renember what she was made of:
15:20 And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances.
15:21 And Miriam answered them, Sing ye to the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea. (Exodus 15:20-21).
A MAN WITH THE HEART OF GOLD WILL NOT SEARCH MUCH FOR WORDS TO PRAISE GOD ON THE DAY OF VICTORY.
You will not lack words to praise God on the day of your victory. AMEN
