Good morning all the good people of the world reading or listening to this message. As your hearts run cold in this desperate time, I pray that God will restore your hopes, Amen.
Some trust in horses , some in chariots, but some trust in the Lord. You should trust in the Lord, He will send to us helpers Amen.
THE MESSAGE : IN HOPELESS TIMES!
In our global world as this time !
Reading from Psalm 20:
20:7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.
20:8 They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright. (Psalm 20 : 7 – 8).
In spite of many things people trust in, they will fall, but we will stand in the name of the Lord.
God looked back after all creation and saw that everything which He made was fine.
People who put their trust in many things have defiled this earth, which God created and said it is fine. How is the earth defiled?
Through all acts of violence, bloodshedding, immorality in all dimensions, and idol worship, this earth has been desecrated.
Genesis 1:31 : And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. (Genesis 1 : 31).
In six days God created every thing including man (Genesis 1 : 27 – 28) and saw that all His works were good. God did not give man an impaired world. Man ought to rejoice, but the sepentine spirit is still with man after the fall of Adam and Eve, has been allowed to reign in the hearts of men, so we have destruction and shedding of blood as man’s utmost desire in a siren earth, which God had given to man.
With many people who are restless in heart, who run to and fro, creating trouble; how far are the things which God has made to be fine, still fine again? People are using their wealth to cause unrest. Is God not the giver of wealth?
Restless people, who live in the jungle, carrying weapons to wage war against people, who live in peace in their homes, how far can we have a peaceful world?
SOME REJOICE IN THEIR GUNS !
The people of God trust in the name of the Lord.
Now some trust in chariots and some in horses, but the people of God will trust in the name of the Lord ( Ps. 20 : 7 – 8)
The Bible tells us that the name of God is a high tower. People who trust in the Lord are kept above the hands of their enemies. So in a situation, where there is the threat of violence all over the place and all hopes are gone, the name of the Lord is still a high tower.
And in Psalm 18:2 : The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
And in Psalm 144: Blessed be the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight: My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me. (Psalm 144 : 1 – 2).
So in a hopeless time like the one in which we are, we can note that the name of God is a high tower, and the helpless can rely on the Lord as his refuge, deliverer and shield. Some who do not understand how God delivers will say ” God dey is the prayer of the weak”. It is true to say so and that is why God proves Himself mighty for them, Amen.
In the Old Testament times, people of God have cast their hopelessness on the Lord and He has never failed the helpless, because He is their helper.
As Hezekiah saw his people before the approaching Assyrians, he was worried and said :
2 Kings 19:3 : ………..”This day is a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and blasphemy; for the children are come to the birth, and there is not strength to bring forth”.
The enemy is near and there is no strength to face them was really a desperate moment for the people of Judah. We can rely on God in all situations as like in the time of Hezekiah. Under great depressing economies, when the nations are starved, sickness raging here and there, including surging insecurity in the lands, the hopeless will still have hope in the name of the Lord Amen.
God will send hope as He told Hezekiah through prophet Isaiah :
Reading from 2 Kings 19 :
19:20 Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, That which thou hast prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria I have heard.
19:21 This is the word that the LORD hath spoken concerning him; The virgin the daughter of Zion hath despised thee, and laughed thee to scorn; the daughter of Jerusalem hath shaken her head at thee.
19:22 Whom hast thou reproached and blasphemed? and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice, and lifted up thine eyes on high? even against the Holy One of Israel. (2 Kings 19 : 20-22).
Every threat of men on others is first against the Lord. May our lives receive the mercy of God Amen.
The Lord fought for the people of Judah against all odds. As we keep praying unto the Lord, and some will mock our prayers, may God deliver our land and each one of us Amen. The hopeless situation will become a hopeful situation. God will send an angel to our rescue Amen.
God will not share His glory, over this earth which He said is good with evil men and this earth cannot become an anathema.
Though His people have sinned, He will not hand them over to the enemy. As I always pray and say to the Lord, may You find reason Oh! Lord, to have compassion over Your children, who call on You day and night, Amen.
I beg You once again Lord and say ” May You find reason to have compassion on us Oh! Lord Amen.
