Perilous times are governed by love of self and not love of God.
Reading from 2Tim. 3 :
3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. (2 Timothy 3 : 1 – 5).
All the symptoms of the perilous times are found in :
(1) the church and her pastors:
some claim to teach the gospel but have denied the salvation story and turned it to use mediums in falsified miracles and money spinning (verse 5). Some are pastors, but hate other men of God or ridicule God’s people who are in trial.
Some ministers think a juicy ministerial environment is the success sort for. They mock less successful colleagues, but is that the rating of God?
(2) In the home among the children and their parents.
Some parents keep a blind eye of what their children do. They celebrate and eat out of cult money gathered by their children. (verse 3 : 2).
(3) in industries and the craze for profit.
Some industrialists have become conduit pipes for stolen money from government treasures. They have launderd public money and mixed them up with falsified profit. (verse 3)
(4) In governments among government officials, we see self centeredness.
Custody of public funds have become personal funds used by those who care less to wield power, betray people, cover up great evils and extend favour to their agents of shame (verses 3 and 4).
We have arms of government set up to control money laundering, but they have failed. We appear to have a provision by goverment that any money paid to an individual account exceeding N2,000,000, should be notified to Central Bank. We also have that clause that any money paid to a corporate account exceeding N5,000,000, should be notified to the CBN. I guess such clauses still exist unless modified.
Much money is going throug the banking system today and are not coming under these provisions.
The Bible tells us we are in the last days and the perilous times are here with us.
(5) among the elites, who have preferred money making, they have resorted to big names calling among themselves.
No one questions impropriety again and those who do so are placed on the line. People question impropriety among those they hate, to make a case for their point.
Every opportunity in the society have become conduit pipes for gathering mammon at the expense of the helpless masses.
Many influential people have become wealthy through COVID, foods meant to help diabetic patients have become unaffordable. All these are the faces of end time self interested people.
THE LAST DAYS SIGNIFY WHAT?
The soon coming of Jesus is here .
Jesus is coming back in power to punish His enemies and to take home those who have waited for His reappearing.
Are you ready? The time is coming when those who have enjoyed what ever, will not be different from those who enjoyed nothing. A time is coming, when those who do not have money and those who have money will be the same.
Not anyone will take away anything. People are carrying great bags of money today and each night as they sleep they forget that wealth until they wake up for the following morning. So one day they shall forget that wealth here and go unto eternity, to stand the judgement of God.
All those issues raised as events of the last days are the things which people do to satisfy their ego and flow in society, among like minded people and get great names.
One blessed morning, they as human beings, no matter how they towered in life, will become history, for God will take away from them the things which made all that great boast they carried in them.
NOTE THE WAY FORWARD:
6:6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.
6:7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
6:8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. (1 Timothy 6 : 6 – 8).
Let us never be part of the evils of these last days, and let us note this :
40:17 All nations before him are as nothing; and they are counted to him less than nothing, and vanity. (Isaiah 40 : 17).
When we praise human beings, let it be that we praise them for good works they have done which follows them, otherwise such great people in our eyes are counted as nothing before God.
God bless you out of this message and please share with your friends and live right in Jesus name Amen.
