When the apostles were persecuted in Jerusalem, they migrated to many parts of Asia with the Gospel.
8:1 And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles.
8:4 Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.
8:5 Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them. (Acts 8 : 1, 4-5).4:11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. Hebrews
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is like the balsam plant and like oil bean tree, when the seeds are dry through heat, they split and the seeds are scattered and sown in many locations.
Persecution brought Peter to Rome and Italy and the neighbourhood heard the gospel.
The event(s) that led to those moves were the pressures of the gates of hell against the church of Jesus Christ, but the moves did not prevail.
Jesus said :
16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. (Matthew 16 : 18 – 19).
You as an individual is the church and all believers put together, form the body of Christ.
When you are oppressed see it, as God’s hand to expand His work using you.
Do not get discouraged in the environment of persecution, you should know God is taking you to somewhere.
We are founded on Christ the solid rock and the gates of hell shall never prevail against us put together and we will expand the frontiers of Christ’s kingdom, and satan will never end this movement.
We have the key which is Christ and by our prayers the kingdom of hell shall be destroyed.
The authority in the keys to bind and loose will not be denied faithful people of God.
All the disciples of Christ suffered martyrdom, except John the Divine, but all the satanic activities spread the good news.
People rise up against competitors, to stop domination, no man pursues a madman, except he is aggressive.
The church is a rival against evil, the wicked and the anti – Christ and the aim all anti – Christ is to fight the Gospel and they are the gates of hell and they shall never prevail.
Some organisations with the tag of Christianity are vain propagandists , they stand against true children of God with their numerical preponderance , influence and robustness. You must sift the grain from the sand.
Pray for them, if your prayer for them will not be fruitless, for God may have rejected many of them and they are not aware.
They hang on the glory of the past, as like unto Saul, not knowing the gate of the kingdom has been transfered to David.
Let us understand that the gate of hell can be those you think are with you as if they are Christians. Yes, they are against you, but God sees every secret. We do not see many things, even when we think we see. Be very mindful for you stand as an individual before Christ and the enemy is waiting for the moment you may be tipsy.
BE DILIGENT AND STEADFAST.
Be ye steadfast on the faith, be ye diligent in doing what is right for your reward goes beyond this physical life.
NOTES:
10:4 He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich. (Proverbs 10 : 4).
4:11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. (Hebrews 4 :11).
Be diligent and also steadfast.
Drawing back is lack of steadfastness in God. Let us try to finish anything we are doing in God very well, within the limit of our annointing. Many are backslidden, but still in the vineyard, they lack lustre, have lost fervour and they retreat and come back the other minute.
It is a dangerous syndrome, for Christ may come in the hour of our rerreat.
May Jesus never allow us to be in that syndrome.
Knowing our labour shall not be in vain, Let us not retreat in the battle field, when the battle has not ended.
The servant of God said :
15:16 For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:
15:17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. (1 Corinthians 15 : 16 – 17).
Our prayer today :
Lord give us the power to be where you want us to be each time, doing what you need us to do. May every opposition move christiandom forward Amen.
