THE LITTLE YOU HAVE WILL FEED YOU.

God is called JehovahJireh, the Provider.

When  it  is said,  “God will feed you”,  it is not  only food and drinks, but it includes all your needs, even life is God’s provision.

The Lord God who feeds the birds of the air is capable to supply all our needs.

Paul to the Philipians said:

4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

4:20 Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen. Philippians 4 : 19 :20.

No scripture is written for fun. The Philipians may have been going through their own version of the trial of their faith.

It may have been their time of hardship and they were comforted in scriptures.

So the little you have can feed you. In this desparate time around, when  many families are grinding  to a halt, with  nothing to eat, all families  must trust God.  Even when there is what to eat, it is not the best. We must trust God for every hardship will at the end of  the day,  speak out the glory of our God. The faithful must not cut  corners in this time of trial,  Amen.

Reading Mark 6 : 38-40,42.

6:38 He saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? go and see. And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes.

6:39 And he commanded them to make all sit down by companies upon the green grass.

6:40 And they sat down in ranks, by hundreds, and by fifties.

6:42 And they did all eat, and were filled.6:43 And they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments, and of the fishes. (Mark 6 : 38 -40, 42).

EVERY EVENT IN SCRIPTURE IS A PRECEDENT.

The people came to the wilderness to listen to the Lord, and quite late in the day, they were hungry. The number was stated as five thousand, but the bible, I guess,  recorded those who  were seated in eanks of  hundreds and fifties. The exact number could be over 5000,  because we are not sure if women and children were counted.

The remnants of bread, were twelve baskets of bread and He had fed five thousand people.

6:43 And they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments, and of the fishes.

6:44 And they that did eat of the loaves were about five thousand men. (Mark 6  : 43 – 44).

The widow of Zarephath

Read I Kings 17 : 10, 13 , and verse  14 specifically :

17:14 For thus saith the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sendeth rain upon the earth.

Elijah was instructed by God to go to  the widow of Zarephath to feed him in the  time of famine.

The woman just had  a handful of flour to bake  for her and the son to  eat and die.

Elijah asked her  to make  some for him first and the  rest for her and the son to eat. She was assured the flour in the  bin and the oil  will never dry until the famine was over.

This word of Elijah was fulfilled. The widow was fruithful in the time of hopelessness. The time we are in our homes and country today,  might be a time of trial of our faith.  Let us show obedience and faith in God.

In the two examples in this message God proved Himself as JehovahJireh, the Provider.

WARNING :

Reading from Deuteronomy :

8:10 When thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt bless the LORD thy God for the good land which he hath given thee.

8:11 Beware that thou forget not the LORD thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day: Deuteronomy 8 : 10 -11).

We are encouraged to be thankful when things go well for us.

The times will change in  the lives of people, who are going through this hard times, but God  has sent us  a warning :

“Forget not the Lord thy God in keeping His statutes, judgements and His commandments.”

It is usual for people to forget the past. Let the exceeding grace  of God increase our faith and trust in Him.

Let us pray :

Oh God, we will never forget your mercies. Our homes must turn round to exhibit  your glory. Keep us Lord in your loving kindness Amen.
