MIRACLE VALLEY Sermon of 2nd October , 2022.
A MUST READ FOR EVERY ONE ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO ARE ASPIRING FOR GREAT THINGS.
First Reading from the Bible : DEUT. 28: 1 – 15.
Song from Hymn Book. SS&S 224. Rejoice and be glad, the Redeemer has come.
Warning from the message of the day :
If you have been deceived, this message is the coming of the Redeemer into your life.
The devil is a deceiver and works through men and your personal ego.
When you are enticed to break rules to get some benefits you crave for please “beware.”
YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO CHANGE THE EVILS THAT COME OUT OF DECEPTION.
READ THE SERMON.
Deception cannot occur unless there is a deceiver and an existing rule laid down for a person or a group of persons to follow.
People must be enticed to break that rule. The deceiver cannot succeed, unless he identifies the ego of the people or call it what a person likes so much.
Note these:
(1) A man who likes food will be enticed with food. He is a glutton.
(2) Those who want to be rich will be enticed with money. Such people are “moneyphonic.” They will promise you money but will not let you know the price you will pay in the long run.
(3) Men or women who like sex will be enticed with women or men respectively. They are lustful.
(4) Those who want power to be in control or to influence others, will be enticed with power positions.
(5) A proud man will seek events to exhibit pride and many will not come out of it.
What people like so much could be used to destroy them.
WHAT HAPPENED IN THE GARDEN OF ADEN.
God’s instruction to Adam and Eve.
2:16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat.
2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. (Genesis 2 : 16 -17).
The coming of Disobedience.
3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die.
3:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. (Genesis 3 : 4 – 5).
The carrot that led Eve to eat the forbidden fruit was that her eyes will be opened and she will be like god, she and her husband. She was enticed by that position of being like god, which she desired so much.
Promises made by the deceiver are never fulfilled to the end. They end half way and then comes the unforeseen troubles.
The serpent said to Eve ” ye shall not surely die, but your eyes shall be opened and ye shall be like god”.
Ye shall not surely die, is not the same as ye shall not die.
Her eyes were opened and she knew good and evil and also knew that she was naked, but she did not become like God. So the death she will not see, entered the world. She eventually, including the husband, who also ate of that fruit died.
Adam lived for 930 years and died, the longest living person on earth, was Methuselah, who lived for 969 years and also died. People are also dying today.
God’s position in the midst of an averse generation.
32:39 See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.
32:40 For I lift up my hand to heaven, and say, I live for ever.
32:41 If I whet my glittering sword, and mine hand take hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to mine enemies, and will reward them that hate me.
32:42 I will make mine arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh; and that with the blood of the slain and of the captives, from the beginning of revenges upon the enemy. (Deuteronomy 32 : 39 – 42).
MAN’S DISOBEDIENCE WILL NOT REDUCE GOD.
Only God lives for ever. What ever you are promised by men which will make you to disobey God, I warn you to be very careful.
The only great gain a man will achieve here, is to be obedient to God so to live with Him in heaven for ever.
THE PROMISE THAT WILL NEVER FAIL.
14:34 Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people. (Proverbs 14 : 34).
Every disobedience is propelled by sin and it brings reproach or shame and disgrace here on earth and in the life to come takes people to hell. Righteousness will put you on an undeniable pedestal.
Final Note :
The devil is a deceiver and works through men and your ego.
When you are enticed to break rules to get some benefits beware.
YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO CHANGE THE EVILS THAT COME OUT OF DECEPTION.
It was not rosy for our first parents in the Garden of Aden and will never be, no matter how people may flow in the benefits of deception, it will come to an end.
Let us pray:
Oh God give us the Holy Ghost to try all things and obey you. Let me never live in the temporary pleasures of deception. Amen.
