Bible Reading for the day : Gen. 6 : 8-22.
BACKGROUND SCRIPTURES FOR THE SERMON.
(1) – Noah was a just man and God marked him out of the wicked world of his time. (Gen. 6 : 9 – 10.).
(2) – Through faith we can see tomorrow and its blessings including eternity (Hab. 2 : 4).
“Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.” (Habakkuk 2 : 4)
(3) – Through faith nothing shall be impossible for us. Mathew 17 : 20 – 21.
“And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.17:21 Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.” (Matthew 17 : 20 – 21)
(4) – By faith Abraham longed for a city whose builder and maker is God.
(5) – “By faith we believe that God exists and He is a rewarder of they that trust in Him.” Hebs. 11 : 6.
“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”
(6) – The work of faith and love will be remembered. (1 Thess. 1 : 3.)
THE MANDATE FOR ALL THROUGH THIS MESSAGE TODAY.
After going through the above readings, there are things which I want us to make a guiding light.
We must pray for the faith which is the gift of the spirit. The faith from the spirit of God is not just claiming things, it is the power of God working through faith in man which accomplishes things.
1 Corinthians 12 :9
“To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;” (1 Corinthians 12 :9).
There is natural faith and there is spirit led faith. We believe that if we eat food we will stop the hunger, if we drink water we shall quench the thirst, and if we go in a known direction we will get to our destination.
These issues are possible naturally, but they are not divine faith.
But through divine faith, we walk with the eye of God, who sees for us.
Hope becomes real by faith, even when not yet seen or say not yet manifested. We can pray in faith and believe it is done through faith. Eternal life can be real for those who walk in righteous faith.
We cannot see rightly with our carnal sight. By our human sight all men are blind.
Walking by Faith in God brings difficult problems to an end.
Those who walk by sight will many times fall into the ditch. Choices are most tines made through what we see, but when we seek things through faith the things which are not appealing by our human sight, could be foundations of great things to come.
2 Corinthians 5 : 7: (For we walk by faith, not by sight).
LET THIS BE OUR EXAMPLE.
As children of God we have to take the foot steps of the ancient people of faith listed in Hebrews CHAPTER 11.
Many today do not believe in God and so long they are led by spirits of this earth, which have no place before God they make too many blasphemous statements without fear of the Almighty God.
The works of great people of God are prophetic, which might appear to be foolish to the ordinary man, but the results are revealing of the power of God.
REMAINING IN GOD THROUGH FAITH IS AWESOME.
Read this very carefully :
32:39 See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.
32:40 For I lift up my hand to heaven, and say, I live for ever. (Deuteronomy 32 : 39 – 40)
Faith reveals the wholeness of God in all who trust in His Being. Faith in God counts far above all things. What appears impossible to the ordinary man will be possible to the man of faith.
God has said :
“See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.” (Deut. 32:39)
