Do you live in this world as a pilgrim ?
Jim Reeves sang this song, ” This world is not my home, ‘am just a passing through”
11:8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.
11:9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:
11:10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
( Hebrews 11 : 8 – 10).
Because Abraham did not make this world all to him, God sanctified his heart to seek the city of God.
You and me could also be so.
People who behave like Abraham will escape from many problems of this life.
What are you looking for in this world?
Many who are looking for greatness in this world, without God-centeredness will run into many difficult issues. Abraham lived for 147 years.
The Bible recorded that he was of great years.
Today to live long continues to be a mirage.
Many have planned a good life, but some who have nothing to plan a good life have lived long.
What are you looking for in this world? With all the horrors of this life, have you ever imagined that this world is but an empty dream?
Great men have come and gone, without knowing the Saviour Jesus and this is happening daily.
Perhaps, Abraham understood this life as an empty dream, and this made him to see this life as nothing even though he was given a promised land.
Is it foolishness to be God-centric?
Even though he lived as a pilgrim here : “did he lack anything?”
You can check the records of Abraham, even God in the Bible said:
“Can I do anything without telling my servant Abraham?”.
This was a time God was about to deal with the sins of Sodom, because of their homosexuality.
MEDITATION :
How will you be living this life if you have opportunities like Abraham?
Will you be a braggart?
How will you live this life now you have great opportunities and great things surrounding you?
Many who have sought to save their lives have lost it.
Many who looked for the things of heaven have been given exceeding grace to behold the goodness of God.
Find time to prayerfully meditate over all the mysteries of this life.

Prayer :
Lord, give me and all my friends the grace to seek that city whose Builder and Maker is God in Jesus name.
