Theme:
CHRISTIANITY IS GLORIOUSLY CONTAGIOUS.
My learned Professor of Hermeneutics, Rev. Prof. Bunmi Akinsola defines “contagious”, charismatically in the following statements:
“When a genuine believer’s life (way) pleases the Lord, his enemies will be friendly with him. Besides, the Bible says, by their fruits/fruit, they shall know them”
He continues by defining , “Usually any tree bearing good fruits attracts many people to its stand, and in addition the quickest way of preaching the gospel is a believer’s conduct, attitude and godly aroma.of inplanted gifts of God inside the Genuine believer. So christianity,is gloriously contagious.”
Google defines contagious as :
(of a disease) spread from one person or organism to another, typically by direct contact, and puts down the synonyms as : infectious, communicable, transmittal.
Relating these to Christianty in the theme of the message, which we have here today, if our Christianity is not communicable or transmissible as a disease, through our attitude, attributes, and conduct, where we live or,work then we have not received Christ.
I came to Christ in March 1967, and Christ’s life and way infected my life and in the past 58 years, I have preached this gospel, which brought me to you at NEKEDE, this time.
NOTE THIS REFLECTION :
And on the Day of Penticost, there was that event that spread the gospel,to many nations.
2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2:7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?
2:8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born? Acts 2: 1,7,8).
If your Christian faith is not contagious, then you are an unbeliever.
On Pentecost Day 3000 people were converted.
“On the day of Pentecost, as recorded in Acts chapter 2, approximately three thousand people were converted and baptized after hearing the apostle Peter preach.”
These individuals accepted Jesus as the Messiah and became part of the early Christian community.
To be true for Christ my learned Professor, (ibid.) wrote ” if you are a genuine Christian,” you, must infect the world with the word of God.
By this your neigbours must know you on how you stand out.
You must infect your neighbourhood, you must infect your family with Christ life.
Several things in this world are contageous, however, like as disease.
CHRISTIANITY IS A CONTAGEOUS DEVELOPMENT.
HOW!
Development is contageous be it :
– Economic development – the people of many nations are linking up to one another, creating integrated institutons.
– social development – culture is contageous, often hard to stop, because the children are infected.
– moral development can be great, for society,
but we have immorality in the process, or good morals building christian ethics and godliness.
– Sin is contageous and many are corrupting others, or are corrupted like a virus.
Christians who are telling lies, or secretly stealing are bad stewards over money or truth and even their faith , with broken homes and adultery, such are not waiting for Christ and unless they repent they will be part of the firewood in hell.
In Genesis 12 : 1 – 3, God called out Abraham as the father of nations of the Middle East and all nations.
Today the world has been engrafted to Abraham’s Judaism and the emergent Christianity.
In this respect how far are we? Are we spreading the Gospel?
So God instructs us in Proverbs 22:6
“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. (KJV).
New International Version says “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.” (New Living Translation.)
Teaching the child the way of God infects the child, with godliness and he,will grow with the virus of godliness and transmit the godliness to the society where.he grows.
I want parents in Miracle Valley Schools to accept the golden values of Christianity as a change agent to refine the children.
And Jesus said in Luke 4 :18 – 19:
4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,4:19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. (Luke 4:18).
Can we put our hands together in following what Jesus says above?
The stand of Jesus from the above words are at your door now.
God bless you all.
I have a song for me and you to share:
“Shall I go an empty handed.”
Will you go an empty handed?.
That song will be in the New Dawn shortly,
Expect it in my Facebook and your Whattsapp.
Let this message bring you to Christ life, converting many to the salvation in Christ.
