CAVEAT:
“To you man of God, or any man who worships the Lord in faithfulness, take extra care, because you are still human no matter How highly the Lord may use you.”
12:6 And the Lord said in Numbers :
“Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.
12:7 My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house.
12:8 With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?”
(Numbers 12 : 6 – 8).
Moses was indeed a tall man, taller in spirit than any known human being on earth.
The Lord said to Moses, ‘Take the staff, and you and your brother Aaron gather the assembly together. Speak to that rock before their eyes and it will pour out its water… Then Moses raised his arm and struck the rock twice with his staff. (Numbers 20 : 7 – 12).
Moses did not obey the instruction to the letters.
When we serve the Lord and act on self will, are we not on our own? God wanted the children of Israel to see His glory in spoken Words, but Moses did not allow that.
Why did Moses not speak to the rock, but instead hit It ?
Frustration and anger due from the complaints and lack of patience of the children of Israel to follow the Lord made him to act the way he did. Most men of God fail as Moses did..
An old man has many rags in his wardrobe, and no matter How great a person may be the rags could be older than he is.
Moses disobedience, happened in the book of Numbers and at the gate of Cannan in the book,if Deuteronomy the Lord spoke about the event which occured many years past and God said to Moses, “You will not enter Cannan though you will behold it.”
READ:
32:48 And the LORD spake unto Moses that selfsame day, saying,
32:49 Get thee up into this mountain Abarim, unto mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, that is over against Jericho; and behold the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel for a possession:
32:50 And die in the mount whither thou goest up, and be gathered unto thy people; as Aaron thy brother died in mount Hor, and was gathered unto his people:
32:51 Because ye trespassed against me among the children of Israel at the waters of MeribahKadesh, in the wilderness of Zin; because ye sanctified me not in the midst of the children of Israel.
32:52 Yet thou shalt see the land before thee; but thou shalt not go thither unto the land which I give the children of Israel. (.Deuteronomy 32 : 48 – 52).
It appears tall people do not see the ground perfectly, like those who are short.
If you have grown so tall in status, it is a good time, to learn to walk by faith and not by sight or by casual understanding. Walk by prayer.
Great men walk by presumption, often and many have become victims in their circumstances.
Will I not suggest that prayer should be the walking stick of men, who begin to see themselves mighty in power and influence?
God, ‘pass’ all men, no matter what we think,we have beccme, and He can humble us if we get over to self indulgences.
