SECRET

This is a must READ. Even so  long it may  be, read all  and pray.

Nebuchadnezzar was a great king but there was a big secret about His Kingdom he never knew. There could  be a great  secret about each one of us which we do not know. We need God to see us through.

THUS :

– There is a secret in the life of every man.

– There is a secret in the affairs of all nations.

– There is a secret in the life  of every great men.

Only God knows the secrets in the affairs of men and all nations even very hurtful ones can be unkown. But those who are protected in His secret place will overcome.

THE ANSWER WE SHOULD STRIVE TO HAVE TODAY IS THIS:

“Can God keep us in His secret place?”

Nebuchadnezzar’s Dream

DANIEL  CHAPTER 2 :

1 In the second year of his reign, Nebuchadnezzar had dreams; his mind was troubled and he could not sleep.

 2 So the king summoned the magicians, enchanters, sorcerers and astrologers[a] to tell him what he had dreamed. When they came in and stood before the king,

 3 he said to them, “I have had a dream that troubles me and I want to know what it means.[b]”

NOTE HIS SITUATION :

So great was Nebuchadnezzer, but he had a dream which  he cannot even remember  talk less of interpreting it.

He perceived the dream was  awesome.

How fearful will that be if the dream is awesome, or what a melody if the dream is some good in in the loins of God not revealed to a man.

NEBUCHADNEZZAR HAD A DREAM THAT TORTURED HIM.

What was rhe dream of Nebuchadnezzar?

All the people invited to tell the dream  could not tell the king: his dream.

NOTE THE FOLLOWING VERSE IN DANIEL 2 : 10 :

2:10 The Chaldeans answered before the king, and said, There is not a man upon the earth that can shew the king’s matter: therefore there is no king, lord, nor ruler, that asked such things at any magician, or astrologer, or Chaldean.

Daniel was called and he revealed the dream to the king.

ESSENTIAL READINGS : Daniel 2 :16 – 47  and specifically note :

“The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldest reveal this secret.” (Daniel 2 : 47).

The most important section to note here  is Daniel 2 :47 ” your God is the God of gods, Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets.”.

MAY GOD NEVER KEEP A NATION, AN INDIVIDUAL ANY GREAT MAN IN DARKNESS. WHEN SECRETS ARE REVEALED YOU HAVE GOT THE  VICTORY.

But Nebuchadezzar’s kingdom was going to end, because he did not worship God, who had raised him so high.  His kingdom was to end and he never knew it. Many kings today face the dilenma of Nebuchadnezzar, but do not know.

And in the book of Psalms it is recorded :

91:1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

91:7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

91:8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. (Psalm 91 : 1,7,8).

Do you know that in the secret place of God we enjoy  protection, we cannot be taken unawares, because He will  provide safe haven.

He will see the evil and move you out of it.

And the Lord reveals :

The phrase “The secret things belong to the Lord our God. Those he reveals are for us to keep and obey.

READ  Deuteronomy 29 : 29.

THE HIGHLIGHT TODAY:

(1) OUR POINT FOR MEDITATION :

2:46 Then the king Nebuchadnezzar fell upon his face, and worshipped Daniel, and commanded that they should offer an oblation and sweet odours unto him. (Daniel 2:46). People worship human beings of great stature, so did Nebuchadnezzar worship Daniel.

Nebuchadnezzar did not understand God’s forewarning. He continued  with his idols thereafter, so are many people  today in our world of men.

Daniel 3:1 “Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof six cubits: he set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon.” (Daniel 3:1)

A cubt is 0.46 meters:

60 cubits heigh is  approximateely 90 feet high.

In Deuteronomy 29:29 the secret thingss belong to God, but those revealed are for us to keep and obey.

 After God had revealed to Nebuchadnezzar what he planned do with the kingdom, he further heightened his idolatary by building  an image 90 feet high for the people to worship in Babylon.

GOD DESCENDED ON HIM.

Daniel 4:16, Let his heart be changed from man’s, and let a beast’s heart be given unto him; and let seven times pass over him.4:24 This is the interpretation, O king, and this is the decree of the most High, which is come upon my lord the king:4:25 That they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and they shall wet thee with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over thee, till thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.4:26 And whereas they commanded to leave the stump of the tree roots; thy kingdom shall be sure unto thee, after that thou shalt have known that the heavens do rule. Daniel 4 : 16, 24, 25, 26.)

CAN WE CONSIDER OUR LIFE

Many people are moving from one level of evil, to another . So was king Nebuchadnezzar. The secret plan of God hung over his head and he was lowered.

God set him aside to live in the jungle with the beasts and to graze like animals for  seven years.

The situation was a final assault in the height of his idolatrous life.

This was his condition for a set  period before his senses were returned to him.

(2) OUR PRAYER :

We must pray that God will not have an important adverse event to be kept in secret concerning us. We must struggle to  obey the Lord, so we can be hidden in His secret places.

PRAYER:  HIDE ME LORD IN THY PAVILION.
