Caveat (1) in today’s sermon

SATAN IS ALSO GATHERING HIS PEOPLE, THEREFORE ENVY NOT THOSE WHO REJOICE IN THEIR SIN. THEY WILL NOT BE GATHERED BY THE LORD INTO HIS BAN.
**Remember in today’s sermon :
4:18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
4:19 Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator. (1 Peter 4 : 18 – 19).
Those who have suffered for Christ may be gathered.

The above song was a popular chant in the gathering of God’s people in the early 1980s.
I call this a reminder that the Lord shall come to gather His people.
As we read about the rapture in 1 Thess. 4 : 16 – 17, let us follow the sermon.
SOME FRUITS OF THE HARVEST WILL BE CAST OUT OR THROWN AWAY.
Not all what the harvester takes at the farm is taken home. Those which are not good are left behind.
Read on:
4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. (1 Thessalonians 4 : 16 – 17)
Note this:
“the dead in Christ shall rise first”
“we that are alive shall be caught up together”.
The above two phrases in 1 Thess. 4 : 16 – 17, indicate, there will be separation and gathering of the good ones together and the bad ones also together at the coming of the Lord.
The wheat or the grains shall be separated from the chaff. Some of what we gather in the harvest, when we enter our farms are not good to be taken home.
Many unfit grains are left for the birds and rats and some will be scorched by the sun to later become manure in the earth.
The grains and the chaff describe people, who got to different levels of maturity and inmmaturity respectively.
The dead who rose first from the dead, are those who are matured and those who were alive and changed are matured and ripe grains fit for the Master and the rest are not gathered.
We take the matured grains into the ban and the rest are cast into the fire. God is gathering His people for the rapture. We must never miss the opportunity.
We have to prepare to be gathered.
We cannot afford not to be gathered, when Christ shall come, whether we are alive or dead at the time of His return.
All the rejoicing in sin by the people of this world shall become bitterness and without remedy.

There will be crying without the comforter, because at that time the comforter has come and gone.
HOW DID JESUS SPEAK ABOUT ALL THESE ?:
(1) 13:30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn. (Matthew 13 : 30)
Both the believers and unbelievers live together, some work in the same office and even worship in the same denomination, but they shall be separated on the Day of the Lord.
(2) 3:17 Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and will gather the wheat into his garner; but the chaff he will burn with fire unquenchable. (Luke 3 : 17)
The Lord shall gather the wheat and fan away the chaff.
(3) 15:6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. (John 15 : 6).
We must abide in God, which means living by His word or we will not be gathered.
GOD WANTS HIS PEOPLE TO PLAY A ROLE IN THE HARVEST.
10:2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest. (Luke 10: 2).
This is the time for evangelism to win souls.
Ask God to teach you to use the evangelism materials at your disposal.
God makes us to know that many souls need to be brought to His word. The messengers are not many. One worrisome development however, is that some are fakes.
The Lord is gathering the grains, let us come to Him now.
Spread this message.
Last Sunday the message was that God is selecting His people, today we have gathering His people.
Gathering and selecting are near synonyms, but they mean different things.
Gathering :
is to assemble together or a meeting, especially one held for a specific purpose. The purpose here is for heaven,
“a family gathering” :people who are in the family of Christ shall be gathered.
Selecting : choosing the best from things which are together. This means some will be left behind.
God is therefore choosing (selecting) His people and gathering them together. There is no better time than today to turn to the Lord.
PRAYER:
Help us Lord that we may be among those to be gathered in Jesus name.
