A Disneyland is a park full of interesting things.
You can call it a place of entertainment. You have Disneyland in parts of the world i.e. in Carlifornia, Florida, Paris etc.
Mr. Okolomangolo, lived in village of many Apple trees. He was averagely rich with a family of two children. He was told by Mr. Gramada that there is a country far away, far beyond description in all good things.
In that country far away lived a mystery Being, who ruled the city and all those who met His standard were given an identity that made them citizens of His kingdom.
Mr. Okolomangolo was excited about that kingdom and wondered how he can leave behind the beautiful gardens around him, where he has the freedom to live the way he liked , not restricted from many pleasures. He got worried how he can avoid enjoying himself, because of a hooe in a kingdom beyond the skies, which he has not seen.
After all he asked Mr. Gramada, “Have you been there?”
Mr. Gramada answered ” I have not been there, but I have read a book sent to this world that tells of the beauty of that kingdom and I accept it by faith”.
Gramada quoted an extract from the book, of John :
“In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” (John 14 : 2 – 3).
Mr. Okolomangolo exclaimed, “How can you know that this exists and how do you test this faith on what you have not seen, to deny yourself, so great pleasures you enjoy now and here, because of an expectation of many mansions not seen.”
Mr. Gramada said again, what you hope for, and feels you have it, while you have not seen it, can create in you a bigger passion, than that which you have seen and there is no hope for a bigger than it.
Okolomangolo was again told :
2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
2:10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
2:11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. (1 Corinthians 2 : 9 – 11).
Specifically, reading from verse 9, all that Mr. Okolomangolo is enjoying here are the things he sees and can handle.
But when he sleeps, he forgets them, until he wakes up again. But he is promised that in the Disneyland of our description things, which “eyes have not seen, ears have not heard, neither entered into the heart of man exist”.
The kingdom of God cannot be compared with Disney land.
All we see here on earth , they are filled with elements of vanity and frustration. We even enjoy some and they later hurt us.
Solomon the wise man said anything he desired he never let them go, but at the end all is vanity and vexation of the spirit.
Read the following , “And Solomon said :
Ecclesiastes : “2:10 And whatsoever mine eyes desired I kept not from them, I withheld not my heart from any joy; for my heart rejoiced in all my labour: and this was my portion of all my labour.
2:11 Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun. (Ecclesiastes 2 : 10 – 11).
There is no profit under the Sun , but there is profit in the Kingdom of God, which is told to Okolomangolo by Mr. Gramada.
You may enjoy by being crooked, wicked, cunning , sexually perverse, corrupted in pursuing riches, lieng to make gains, or even being good, but note that in this life : “you will end up in frustration and vexation of the spirit.”
It is only in heaven, there will be no frustration and vexation of the spirit.
What wil happen in the life to come is what Okolomangolo sees as a mystery which he cannot wait for to come.
There is no vanity in anything thrust forward in search for the kingdom of God.
Prayer:
Bless us Lord to know that all the bliss of this life are but vanity and the kingdom you have promised the believers, surpasses all things. Grant us the grace to pursue your kingdom in Jesus name Amen.
