SIGNS OF THE END.
It is not strange to see or hear about the evils happening across the world. Jesus predicted about the things we are witnessing, while He was on this earth. These we know as signs of the end. This world will end and after that comes the judgenent.
Of all the religious founders, none of them predicted the end as was done by Jesus. I am not sure if any of them spoke of the end.
NOTE :
24:6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
24:8 All these are the beginning of sorrows. (Matthew 24 : 6 – 8).
Are you not hearing of how the world powers are always in a show of strength? The present race to acquire all sorts of armours of destruction are signs of the end.
In a time when people are homeless, some are still going naked in parts of the world, while great famines are ravaging the world, nations are busy equipping themselves to destroy each other.
Kingdom is against kingdom and this is a situation, where within a country people are rising against themselves. Jesus predicted these things. From what we notice which Jesus spoke about, people should use them as reasons to follow Him.
Further Predictions :
24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
24:12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
We are in an age where what makes some one a great man of God is the ability to come up with prophecies. But we are aware that these prophecies have not changed our world, because some are misdirected or are false. These prophecies do not point to human spiritual deprivations. Some are to create suspicion among the people. Some prophecies have divided families and some have led novices to idol worship.
Sin still abounds among these prophets in their enclaves. Prophecy is good for salvation.
Let us teach the word of God and not specialise on prophetic speech. It is a gift of the spirit and should speak the mind of God concerning sin and the need for salvation of the erring world, the consequences and divine justice. If a prophecy falters, then it is not of God. Prophecy should be the mind of God.
If the prophecies do not contribute to repentance, they may have come for vainglory. The predictions of Jesus should keep us on our toes
THIS IS THE AGE OF EVANGELISM.
24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. (Matthew 24 : 11 – 24).
Many need to hear the Gospel. We have large denominations across the world and some will think that the Gospel is expanding. But there are many immoral people, doing what they like as if this gospel is not preached. Christ wants spiritual hearing of His Word to reach everybody on this globe to cause repentance. If that does not happen then the people are yet to hear the Word and Christ will still tarry for compassion of souls sake.
People are predicting the end, without reference to this assertion by Christ. We must preach the Gospel to everybody including ourselves.
NOTE THIS AGAIN :
24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand)
24:16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
24:17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
24:18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
24:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. ( Matthew 24 : 15 – 18, 29- 31)
The desolation spoken of talks of the AntiChrist and the coming of the antiChrist is a signal of the end of the age. The antiChrist is working against the followers of Christ for all we know, they cannot stand against Christ Himself.
All these are leading to the rapture. Let us win souls while we may.
WHAT OUR CURRENT EMPHASIS SHOULD BE.
Anything we emphasise on, without focussing on the ending of this age as it is now, in our mind is vanity. The things which men are putting together outside Christianity, shall be items of frustration.
