Prologue :
We say we see, but do we see all?. Even when we prophesy, we prophesy in part. Wow !
Some great men of God say they see and have become blind. Some live in presumption now.
Every physical event in the universe are first concluded in the realms of the spirit. God tells us this :
“The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law. (Deuteronomy 29 : 29)
God uncovers truths for our guide to salvation, God reveals events in our personal lives and our community that we be guided in prayer. In the event that God does not reveal, we are blind. But many in utter darkness claim to see when in truth they see nothing. The bible in itself is revealed truth.. The bible is not the totality of God akso , but I guess those things which God wants us to know to live and worship Him are revealed.
In the gospel according to Luke 4 : 18, Jesus said ,
“4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, (Luke 4 : 18).
The area of interest to me to speak to us today is the phrase : “……. and recovering of sight to the blind”. This is material, because some of us who, say we see, are blind and need to recover our sight.
Did it mean that all who came to Jesus were all blind people? Surely not. And did it mean that all who had their eyes open and saw all things around them , were not blind but see?
I will say that not all whose eyes are open really see anything. There are many who see clearly but yet blind.
Spiritual blindness of the people.
And in Matthew 5 : 8 Jesus said :
“Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God”.
This aspect of seeing God, is not just with the physical eye, but of the spirit, as someone beholds many truths revealed to the ordinary person. However the greatest of seeing God, will be in heaven when God gathers His children at the end of the age.
Those who will see God in the above statement may not be only those who have good eyes, but those with spiritual eyes, even if they be blind. For in the kingdom to come, no one will be blind.
SEEING YET THEY DO NOT SEE.
“Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.” (Matthew 13 : 13).
People boast of what they see, but Jesus saw them as blind folks. God deals with the braggart in mysterious ways.
The phrase used by Jesus in the above verse ” because they seeing see not ” takes us to the need to open the eye of the blind.
In our world most of us are blind even when we do not use physical eye glasses. Some of us see naturally so well, but that does not mean we see?
God is revealing things unto them that call on Him with a sincere heart otherwise many walk in darkness.
REVELATION IS THE STRENGTH OF MAN.
Without divine revelation all men are blind so we grope in darkness. But because many do not believe that God is still speaking to men, so the people grope in darkness. We have mega churches today, but many have not been spoken to direct, by the Holy Ghost and most of such people could be highly placed people in those churches.
With abundant revelation about the end of the age ( rapture), people are still walking into such dangers, both Kings and the ordinary men, because they are blind to revealed truth.
God is not ready to compete with ignorant human beings, no matter how elevated they might be, because all beings are His creatures.
LOOK AT THE BOOK OF DANIEL
2:47 The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldest reveal this secret.
(Daniel 2 : 47).
Except by revelation, King Nebuchadnezzar was blind to the truth of what he saw. Yet the events that would unfold were of material consequences to his life and kingdom.
So are many people today walking through the surge of life issues, but walking along like an elephant, not knowing the hunters are on the trail.
It takes the eye of God for us to see even the imagination of the heart of our enemies.
You may ask how can someone see the imagination of the heart of men. Severally Jesus perceived the heart of the audience and in that he was seeing clearly.
So it was for Nebuchadnezzar and for any other human being in our contemporary age.
LET US SEEK REVELATION FOR IT IS A BETTER WAY TO SEE, ELSE WE ARE BLIND.
Over these years of being a Christian I have discovered that the best way to truely see is when God reveals things to us. Strong personal or group revelation, makes prayers more target driven or we might be beating about in darkness, without addressing material issues concerning our lives, that of our loved ones, our community, the nation and the world. I am not talking about star gazer’s revelation, or crisbol of men, sorcery etc. but I am talking about God showing us something as in a vision, trance, through prophetic word of wisdom etc. Please begin to pray for the gift of revelation. It is real and will help you, if God gives it to you in this life. You will see better through prophecy, visions, dreams etc when they are God given.
LOOK AT THE EXPERIENCE OF PAUL
1:14 And profited in the Jews’ religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers.1:15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb, and called me by his grace,1:16 To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood: (Galatians 1 : 14 – 16).
Most times we think we are up there. Paul did well in the Jewish religion, for an ordinary thinking person among the Jews Paul was doing great. This went on until Jesus revealed Himself to him to make him a disciple to the heathen nations. He Paul then saw the extent of his blindness, up to his call he had great zeal without knowledge of the truth.
THE FUTURE IS BLEAK WITHOUT THE GUIDING LIGHT OF GOD.
Shall we be among the living, shall we be among the free, only God in heaven knows.
Shall we do great for the Lord, only God in heaven knows.
Shall we be just nothing, only God in heaven knows.
Shall we fall into pitiable position, only God in heaven knows.
With God on our side there shall be no condemnation for us in Christ Jesus.
So in the midst of several uncertainties, we need the hand and eye of God over our lives, we need to be commmitted to God that He may reveal Himself to us and deliver us Amen.
PRAYER FOR TODAY.
Lord, you only have the search light. I have eyes, but I cannot see without your eye. Open my eyes that I might truely see. Lead me through safe grounds and support my generation. Help me Lord for in you only I live, because thou liveth.
Keep making this prayer beloved of God.
