Often doctors say ” the patient arrived late, but Jesus said, this sickness is not unto death, but that God will be glorified.”
POINT TO NOTE :
One thing which seriously disorganises human beings is sickness. No man, no matter the material possession, even the leader of powers that be, or the medical men of repute are not left out in this shattering. When it comes, all schedules must be shifted, until there is recovery. But God has solution for every sickness, it is one of the items of “By grace you are saved.
” God take sickness pass man o o o.”
Satan knows this dimension full well and so after Job lost all his wealth and still remained stable in God, satan said to God ‘touch his flesh’.
LET US READ THE FOLLOWING:
When Job had lost every thing including his children he still worshipped the Lord.
1:20 Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped,1:21 And said, Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.1:22 In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly. (Job 1 : 20 – 22).
Satan’s Strategy To Use Sickness.
2:4 And Satan answered the LORD, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life.2:5 But put forth thine hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse thee to thy face.
But Satan Has No Authority Without God’s Approval
2:6 And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life.
SATAN’S ATTACK :
2:7 So went Satan forth from the presence of the LORD, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown.
Inspite of this Job did not give up. But the wife was a weak vessel. She could not bear this and if you can cast your mind back, she had lost all her children already.
SOME WOMEN ARE OFTEN QUICKLY FRAGILE WITH THEIR MOUTHS IN TIMES OF DESPERATION.
2:9 Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die. Job
2:10 But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips. (Job 2 : 9 – 10)
ONLY GOD DETERMINES THE RESULT OF EVERY SICKNESS.
(1) God no matter the severity often says, “this sickness is not unto death but for the glory of God.”
John 11 : 3 – 5
The case of Lazarus :
[3] Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick. [4] When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby. [5] Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.
By the time Jesus got to the home of Mary and Martha , Lazarus had died and been buried. Jesus raised him back to life.
(2) At the pool of Bathesda hospital. Jesus bypassed medical processes to heal the paralytic man who had been so for 38 years.
The Pool of Bethesda is noted in John 5:2 in account of Jesus healing a paralyzed man
5:2 Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.5:3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.5:5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.5:8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.5:9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath. John 5 : 2 – 3, 5, 8 , 9)
The world of medical science must have forgotten the case of the paralysed mam, but Jesus spoke to this man and saud : rise, take up thy bed, and walk and it was instanta.
(3) The woman with the issue of blood.
The woman with an issue of blood would have experienced terrible pain during her illness. The Bible tells us she was suffering for 12 years before she was healed by Christ (Luke 8:43).
This woman must have seen the situation of her life as the end of the road, until she heard of the “God -made -man -Jesus”
And she said in her mind, If I can touch the hem of His garments I would be healed.
Read this script:
8:43 And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any,8:44 Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched. (Luke 8 : 43 – 44).
We know from subsequent verses that she was healed. She had spent much resources and most treatment, had been to comfort her. Jesus only noted that power had gone out of Him when she was healed.
In all these instances we saw what could be called “lost cases.”
We build our faith from what God does. He is called “JehovaRapha”, the ‘Healer.’ From wherever you wil be reading this Sermon, get on with the faith that changed the lives of the people mentioned in the three instances above.
And you will come back from where you had been headed to say Thank You Jesus.
May God through this sermon restore hope to the sick. May God bring resounding testimony to the sick and the afflicted as He has always done in Jesus name. May God make you whole in the bame of Jesus Anen.
