Christian friends, I greet all Of you in the precious name of Jesus. We thank God whom has made us to see this day.
The lockdown of churches in Lagos, has been lifted today 9th August 2020. We know God will phase out everything that stands against His people gathering together to worship Him. It is well with us. Amen.
THE MESSAGE : CHRISTIANITY ON TRIAL
Of all the religious faiths on the planet today none has been under great attack like the Christian faith.
No one can give a cogent reason for people hating the way. Yet, the faith has not forced people to accept the way or begged people to be Christians. The only invitation Christ left to the would be Christians after His faith is this way :
Reading from Matthew Chapter 11:28 :
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11 : 28- 30).
Taking the yoke of Christ is coming under His control to obey the word of God inviting men to live righteously. In obeying His instructions He gives rest. Those who come under His rest are delivered from several bondages, healed from sicknesses and given eternal life.
Those who resist Christianity are people, who want to live their life their own way, out of the control of God’s word.
Christ spoke of this persecution.
Jesus went about in His time preaching the gospel of the need for men to repent from their sins. For that reason He came that men may not perish, but should earn eternal life.
For that He suffered persecution. Therefore if Christianity is under attack today, it is because it chastises the world of the life of sin.
Remember these following words of Christ that the world hated him.
Reading from John :
15:18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. (John 15 : 18).
People love those who associate with them. The christian should not expect to be loved in as much as they speak against sin which people live in.
15:19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. (John 15 : 19)
For that reason many Christians have been killed, simply because, they have not chosen the way of the world. But those who do such things do not remember that no one fights against them for not being Christians.
In John 15 :
15:20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. (John 15 : 20).
Who loves other men’s servants? Today servants may not be loved by the enemy of their master, neither will children be a friend to the enemy of their father.
Those who want to be christians, must accept this attack by people who will not want to be christians. It is a world wide phenomenon, that Christianity is under trial.
But Jesus said :
“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. (John 16 : 33).
As the war against Christianity rages across the world, Christ sent the comforting note above : ” be of good cheer, I have overcome the world ”
Why the hullaballo over the christian faith? Satan lost the glory of heaven and was cast down, because of his pride and he will not want anyone to enter into this glory which God has for them that obey His word. Therefore Satan offers people several pleasures that they may not think of heaven. He also goes out to instigate people to attack free going people that will not follow him.
NOTE WHAT THE LORD SAID ABOUT LUCIFER, SATAN THE DEVIL:
14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
14:13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
14:14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
14:15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
14:16 They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;
14:17 That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?
14:18 All the kings of the nations, even all of them, lie in glory, every one in his own house.
14:19 But thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch, and as the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcase trodden under feet. (Isaiah 14: 12-19).
How do you expect Satan to want to allow men to enter heaven after he lost this great blessing of God?
What Did Christ promise?
He said :
14:2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. (John 14 : 2 – 3).
HOW DO YOU EXPECT SATAN TO ALLOW PEOPLE THE PEACE TO ENTER THE GLORY HE HAD LOST FOR EVER?
No religious leader offered this promise and none of their followers have this hope. Christians have this hope and people should pray for this promise to be fulfilled in their life.
DO YOU WANT TO ENTER THE PROMISE OF GOD.
Read this from Matthew :
18:8 Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.
18:9 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire. (Matthew 18 : 8 – 9).
My Prayer and wishes for all Christians :
Watch out for anything that will hinder you from entering heaven and cut it off from your life Amen. May the Almighty God see you through on this slippery path, but full of blessings for the overcomer in Jesus name Amen.
