With the raging world Coronavirus epidemic, one could ask if God would allow such on His creation?
Some people who heard me say it is possible, rebuked me indirectly by sayng it is an indictement on Jehovah. Who should indict God? Surely not me.
The same God who created heaven also created hell. And in the two places in eternity God provided:
(1) Heaven
(2) Hell
Heaven to reward those who obey Him and hell to punish sinners. May God deliver us for we trust in His mercies. Amen.
Remember this in 2 Chronicles 7 : 13 – 14:
7:13 If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;
GOD IS LETTING US TO KNOW IT IS POSSIBLE FOR HIM TO SHUT HEAVEN OR DECLARE DISASTER.
7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7 : 13 – 14).
BUT IN DOING THIS IF WE REPENT HE WILL LOOK DOWN FROM HEAVEN AND HEAL US
Number 2: The Deluge ( The flood )
The Cause of the flood was sin
6:2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.
6:3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
6:5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. (Genesis 6 : 2, 3 , 5).
With the instances before the flood we are able to agree that God’s hand could visit a sinning people.
Let us agree that there are so much afront on God by humanity. Apart from the above fact we agree there is abuse of human dignity.
Men are marrying men, sons are relating with their mothers, daughters are mating with their brothers. Do we see decency in these? All these are also against the commandments of God. And we can take God for granted, because we think He is slack. Let me tell us that those who feel I am wrong should know there are men and women of God, who God is talking to about our present situation.
The result of sin in the time of Adam.
6:6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
6:7 And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. (Genesis 6 : 6 – 7).
The same kind God we know reduced life span of man to one hundred and twenty years and also destroyed the first world with the flood. You note above what God said to us in 2 Chronicles 7 : 13 -14.
He can shut down heaven and there is nothing men can do about it, than to crawl to His feet and seek pardon and He would have mercy on us. But if we reject mercy , God will give punishment.
In His word He said He will have mercy on whom He will have mercy, So in this pandemic, let us rearrange our lives towards God.
GOD IS FAITHFUL AND KIND.
God will never punish the innocent ones. He gives His people the opportunity to make amendments. But when people harden their hearts God allows His justice to prevail.
WHAT WE MUST DO AT A TIME LIKE THIS.
Let us keep pleading with God to deliver us and our people. There is no doubt we shall see the salvation of the Lord.
OUR PRAYER TODAY.
Lord God of all compassion have mercy on us. The awareness has been created that we have sinned against You, kindly deliver us from this distress. Amen.
