COVENANT MONTH DAY 6: (February 6th, 2022)

This discourse is dealing with the experience of Jacob as he left his father’s house to go to  live with his uncle Laban. Isaac had blessed Jacob instead of Esau and  wrath of Esau was great, so Jacob must leave home.

Jacob like Abraham his grand father, and like his father Isaac, is a child of the covenant. Like at  Miracle Valley, we are a covenant people and February is chosen as a month on our return journey to Bethel.

We have much to learn. Follow carefully and may JehovahElohim, show you great light in this month of February as you will read rfrom us every Sunday.

The Sermon for this Sunday.

HATRED IS A VICE.

The Message :

Hatred and envy will  never bring blessings to anybody, but the tendency  is for hatred and envy,  which I call devourers  of good things, to bring great set backs to people.

Envy no man and hate no man for what ever they may have in life, or the position they may also occupy.. Your own blessings can not be for another. If you envy a man for what He has or is,  will you envy to possess his troubles?

Pray that whichever is your own should reach you at God’s time.

Jacob hated Leah, because he loved Rachel. God therefore closed the womb of  Rachel, who he loved so much and she had no children of her own for a season, until Leah had all her children.

Leah had six sons  from her own womb and two through  her maids for Jacob.

Rachel in desperation had two sons for Jacob through her maids  and later  one from her own womb Joseph, before they left Laban.

Benjamin was born on their way back to Bethel.

These were the twelve sons of Jacob.

Jacob hated Leah and Rachel envied her sister Leah. All these cross fires of hatred and envy, worked against Rachel.

We must be careful not to allow hatred in our lives. God does not work like men.  Jacob did not understand this,  neither did Rachel come to gripes with dangers of envy.

Samuel’s mother was loved, but she had no children. and the woman that was not so loved by Elkanah had many children.

It was by divine intervention that the womb of Hannah was opened to have Samuel and later   other children in sequence.

In our journey to Bethel during my covenant month, I will implore all my children and friends to hate no one, neither should they envy any one, because God could bless those who you hate and leave you empty, to your dismay.

In every respect we must buy this divine pronouncement:

4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.  (James 4 : 6).

If you are humble  God will make a way for you.

Jacob exhibited humility. He served seven years to have Rachel and the inlaw gave him Leah. He humbled himself to serve for another seven years to receive Rachel. How do we treat moments of adversity?

And in the course of this God blessed him with 12 sons.

In my journey  back to  Bethel, I encourage all of us to learn some simple moments of truth, which will guide us throuh life. Nay God give us next sunday for another expository, Amen.
