Miracle Valley first Sunday Sermon, October 2021.
Enemies celebrate when you appear to fail or even fail.
Enemies are unhappy when you appear to regroup.
Enemies shout and mourn when you stand up again.
I want to encourage my friends never to allow the mockery of enemies to frustrate them when things go down.
Life is a course and could be up and down. Those who fed you when you were down may rejoice with you when you survive.
Those who hate you may feel concerned when they see you on your feet again. They never understand the power behind your rising up again.
When Israel returned to their land again they had to start rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem.
It was pain in the heart of their enemies, who wanted Jerusalem to remain in ruin.
Let us go through scriptures:
Neh. 2 :19 – 20:
2:19 But when Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, and Geshem the Arabian, heard it, they laughed us to scorn, and despised us, and said, What is this thing that ye do? will ye rebel against the king?
2:20 Then answered I them, and said unto them, The God of heaven, he will prosper us; therefore we his servants will arise and build: but ye have no portion, nor right, nor memorial, in Jerusalem. Nehemiah 2 : 19 – 20.
ENEMIES DO LAUGH AT YOUR EFFORTS.
Enemies laughed at Nehemiah when they began to regroup, Nehemiah told them he had the God of heaven on their part.
4:1 But it came to pass, that when Sanballat heard that we builded the wall, he was wroth, and took great indignation, and mocked the Jews.
4:2 And he spake before his brethren and the army of Samaria, and said, What do these feeble Jews? will they fortify themselves? will they sacrifice? will they make an end in a day? will they revive the stones out of the heaps of the rubbish which are burned? (Nehemiah 4 : 1- 2).
Your enemies will wonder what you can do to set up again. Because some of them consult the queen of heaven, they wonder the volume of your sacrifice for survival.
The enemy will be disheartened to hear of your success.
6:16 And it came to pass, that when all our enemies heard thereof, and all the heathen that were about us saw these things, they were much cast down in their own eyes: for they perceived that this work was wrought of our God. (Nehemiah 6 : 16.)
If you worship God note you will have challenges. The hand of God will support them that seek Him. They will accomplish the programs which God has assigned to them by His grace.
Let us keep trusting God.
37:3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. (Psalm 37 3).
We can only survive in desperate times throuh our trust in God.
Do not trust your own heart or you will stop following God in the time of despair.
28:26 He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered. (Proverbs 28 :26).
You will be called a fool before God if you think you know how-to do it. You will fail desperately without God, as your anchor. Trust God and you will be guided by His Spirit.
My concern:
I do not know what you are going through today. But all human beings have one concern or the order. It could be insecurity, which burdens you, or it could be sickness, it could be lack of one thing or another, it could be great threat on you worshipping God.
Whichever is the situation hang on the Word of God, be like Nehemiah, he was mocked and cajoled, he was frightened and even led to blasphemy, but he overcame. He remained focussed and understood he needed the hand of God and it came and he accomplished like Zerubabbel, who was ordained to lay a foundation and to commission it. (Zechariah 4 : 6 – 10).
Keep your faith, be not cajoled to sin, or even threatened to abandon a good course. God is on the throne. God will visit you and deliver you.
