God Is Not Far

Prologue :

A man who is far is beyond reach. Even shouting may not make him to hear. But when someone is near to you, you just whisper and he hears. God is not far means He is near and whispering to Him is quite enough. You must know that God is not far from the solutions to your problem,  because  He is the solution indeed. Those who know God should know that depending on self is utmost futility. There  are people who struggle on their own,  under hash conditions,  because  to them God is far. God is far from those who do not follow His principles, so such people go throuh hard times alone and get to no where Wow!

IT IS A GREAT SUPPER TO EAT WITH GOD.

Read Revelation 3:20:

“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”

God was speaking to the church in Laodicea, through the Angel He sent to check on them, and told them that He stands at the door and knocks. If any man hears He will come in to  sup with him.

To sup with someone is a great meal,  because the man that comes for supper,  may likely tarry. God is not coming to see you and go away , but is coming to remain. If God be with us who can be against  us.

Reading from Romans 8:31 :

8:31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?8:32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?8:33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth. (Romans 8:31-33).

WE NEED A SPIRITUAL EAR.

For God to be for us  is great opportunity for He will fight for us. We hear God with a spiritual ear.  He that hears from God is not by physical hearing.  And hearing is what comes through obedience to His word. God cannot stand at the door and enter unless the heart is clean and open. The door is our heart, which is the entrance into our entire body and life.

GOD HAS GIVEN US AN OPEN DOOR.

And to the church in Philadelphia the Angel of the Lord said :

3:8 I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name. (Revelation 3:8).

The Message :

The intention in this message today is not to go into the details of the churches we will mention. We will rather take sections to buttress this  message that “God is not far”.

To the church in Philadelphia He told them that He has sent an open door. If a stranger comes to  your door  and you open the door you do not drag him in , the visitor has a choice to enter or stay at the door way. An open door is an opportunity for many possibilities. May the Almighty God grant us an open door. Let the open door stand for our blessings in Jesus name Amen.

A man who brings a letter to you will expect you to be anxious  to receive it.

In Psalm 145:17-18 we note this:

145:17 The LORD is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works.145:18 The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth. (Psalm 145:17-18).

The Lord is nigh (near), to all who call upon Him in truth.

There is  another dimension in this message or invitation in Isaiah 55: 6 – 8 :

55:6 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:

55:7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

We are told many critical truths about this relationship with God:

(i)  seek Him while He may be found.

(ii) call upon Him when He is near; and in  calling  Him we are warned:

(i) let the wicked forsake his way

(ii) and the unrighteous man his thoughts

(iii) and let him return to the Lord.

And having done these what will the Lord do:  He says He will have mercy on him and pardon his sins.

Finally  the Lord tells us  “for my thoughts are not your thoughts,  neither are my ways thy ways.

We do not have the authority to dictate to God,  what will be called sin. So we have to be mindful for He will not take permission from any man to deal with sin. Throughout scripture God told His chosen ones what He will do, but did not seek their authority to do them.

(i) He told  Eli of what He will do and He did so.

(ii)  He  told Abraham of what He will do to Sodom and He did so.

(iii) He told Noah of what He will do and did so.

(iv) He spoke about the kingdom  of Nebuchadnezzar and did not seek approval from anybody to do what was predicted.

(v) He told Moses of what He will do with Pharoah. Egypt, therefore, went through ten plagues until they obeyed God to let Israel to go.

IS THERE ANYTHING THAT CAN STOP THE HAND OF GOD.

Some of disasters  God wants to  execute ,  called for repentance,  which might make  God change His mind. B55:6 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:55:7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. Isaiahut the required obedience, were too late to come, to redress the situation. So God is not far to any one who is prepared to obey Him.

May God have mercy on us Amen.
