GOD IS WAITING FOR OUR REQUESTS.

The apostles confirmed this divine position , Jesus repeated It and sealed it with a parable of the unjust judge and the persistent widow. So what are we waiting for in the condition we are now?

Therefore In Every Situation Make Your Request Made Known To God.
4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. (Philippians 4:6).

Paul the apostle speaking to the church in Philipi and also, this should be to any gathering of believers. Be careful for nothing does not mean we should be careless, or not minding details. Rather than worry so much in any circumstance , such as troubles, sickness or persecution, we should take a position of prayer.

We should bring our requests to God in those circumstances, which give us worry.
Requests should be made known to God through :
1. Prayer
2. Supplication ( worship and through begging)
3. Thanksgiving..

Prayer is talking to God, on items covering our needs and worries. Supplication is worship through praises, and begging , confessing our sins and imperfections. God might have mercy on us if our coming to Him appears acceptable.

Note that we need to come to God with a thankful heart. Often as human beings, our needs often overshoot the responsibility to praise God. As in good times , God is also in charge of bad times. Let us give thanks to God in every situation. Let us not tear our garments, but let us tear our hearts unto God. Open up to God in godly sorrow.

Pray Without Ceasing.
We are encouraged to pray without ceasing. We might often get tired of praying after praying for months on an issue and things are getting worse. We are encouraged to pray without ceasing.
Read 1 Thessalonians :
5:16 Rejoice evermore.
5:17 Pray without ceasing.
5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. (1 Thessalonians 5 :16 – 17.)
Our joy should increase, we should not be limited in prayer, because of sufferings and let such be followed with thanksgiving.

Pray in faith:
Except we pray in faith, we could perhaps just be moving our mouth.
Prayer of Faith avails much.
Hannah the mother of Samuel in the temple before Eli just moved her mouth in hysteria. Eli the priest of God mistook her for being drunk and Hannah said : “I am pouring my heart to God”
And in James:
5:15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. (James 5 :15).
Prayer done through faith means very much.
So pray without ceasing, pray through supplication ( worship), pray with thaksgiving to God no matter what happens. God is over all situations. God created the entire universe, and if that be the case you are too tiny to have a problem which God cannot give solution.

Jesus gave a parable of the importunate widow.
Reading from Luke 18 :
18:1 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;18:2 Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:18:3 And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. (Luke18 : 1 – 3).
This widow pestered the king until he could not do otherwise, but give her the answer to her request.

The king therefore had said :
18:5 Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. (Luke 18:5)
And Christ said :
18:6 And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.
18:7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? (Luke 18:6-7).

There is great power in prayer,
In this current world of diverse problems, no one has overcome them totally, no exceptions but only those who pray can go through, because God will come to them.
Jesus said He that asketh receiveth, he that seeketh findeth, and he that knocketh, the door will, be opened unto him. ( Luke11:10). For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened”.
As I speak to you so I speak to myself.
God bless you and give you victory, as you go through this sermon of this last Sunday of May 2020.
