LET THE DOCTRINE NEVER BE OUR OWN

(Let it be from the Lord who called us.)

Theme : “Hold that which you have and let no man take your crown.”

Those who speak good  of others are better to be trusted than those who speak of  themselves. Our reading will be taken from John  Chapter 7 as follows:

JESUS DID NOT WALK OPENLY AMONG THE JEWS FOR THEY SOUGHT TO KILL HIM.

READ:

7:1 After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to kill him.

7:2 Now the Jew’s feast of tabernacles was at hand.

7:3 His brethren therefore said unto him, Depart hence, and go into Judaea, that thy disciples also may see the works that thou doest.

7:4 For there is no man that doeth any thing in secret, and he himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou do these things, shew thyself to the world.

7:5 For neither did his brethren believe in him. (John 7 : 1 – 5).

People who work in the name of God are not expected to show themselves every where, so that people could notice them.. Jesus waited for His time to show Himself to the world. His brothers wanted Him to show His glory to the world, but incidentally these brethren of His,  did not even believe in Him. Jesus avoided the Jews, because they wanted to kill Him before His time.. He differed from them in His teachings as He said He did not come to seek His own glory.

It is unbelievable that even today, some Jews are rising up across the world and even in their own land, to seek baptism in the name of Jesus. I get amazed when I read about this devevelolment in United With Israel in World Israel News (WIN) in the internet.

The stand which the Jews held about Jesus has persisted, in some minds, after over 2000 years of His Coming and return to heaven.

This should lead us to the credibility of Jesus. By this develolment, I return to the Words  of the Angel to the Church in Philadelphia (Rev. 3 : 7), which says:

“Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.”(Revelation 3 : 11).

I encourage everybody, who is struggling without being tired, to continue to serve the Lord not minding all hate, never to give up.

Because  many shall trust in many things, even in the work of their hands and in this  Isaiah says :

“Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” (Isaiah 40 : 30 – 31).

Only the winner did not  give up. The Spartan dies, but never surrenders.

THERE WERE DIVIDED OPINIONS ABOUT JESUS THEN,  JUST AS IT IS TODAY.

7:10 But when his brethren were gone up, then went he also up unto the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret.

7:12 And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him: for some said, He is a good man: others said, Nay; but he deceiveth the people.( John  7 : 10, 12).

Jesus however went to the feast of Tabernacle later, but secretly and noticed there were murmurings about Him, some saying He was a good man and some saying He deceives the people.

If you hold firm to the Word of God, you must avoid all distractions from what people say about you. You will be given names by the people, but so long you do not speak of yourself or do wrong things, continue to be the witness for the Lord, who called you, concerning  what you have heard and received and proven directly or in personal revelations to you.

NOTE:

JESUS DID NOT SPEAK OF HIMSELF.

7:14 Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught..

7:15 And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?

7:16 Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.

7:17 If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.

7:18 He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him. (John 7 : 1 – 5, 10, 12, 15 – 18).

We will not seek our own  glory. Let the doctrine not be our own, but of the Lord. Pray for them that discredit you, but  let the messsge not be late for  them. Jesus was not learned as the Jews noted in His teaching. He also told them He did not come with His own doctrine,  but the doctrine of Him  that sent Him.

SUMMARY OF THE MESSAGE.

Let this be our stand. We will be silently working for the Lord. No matter the threat of them that hate God, even them among our friends and relations, let God be our Word  (doctrine) Amen.

PERSONAL PRAYER :

In my search for heaven, Lord, do not allow any one to take my crown. I may not have the acclaim of the world, but to loose heaven is just what regret will never change. Help me oh Lord to be with you Amen.
