Master Careth Not That We Perish?

Jesus Stills The Wind. He is still doing the same today. Have you tried Him?

Preamble for  today’s message.

Life is a mighty ocean !

We are  not different from generations past in life experiences, even though we may be years ahead after their time. Same God that weathered situations for people of past years are the same God today. We have to use scripture to guide ourselves, when the ocean waves of life threaten our lives.

Note this :

Reading from Mark Chapter 4:
4:35 And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side.

4:36 And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships.

4:37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.

4:38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?

4:39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. (Mark 4 : 35-39).

We have the obligation to tell it to Jesus in our difficult times. They reported to Him, not that He does not know, but for our education to know that God is with us.

God was praised by past men of our  faith.

“Which stilleth the noise of the seas, the noise of their waves, and the tumult of the people.” (Psalm 65:7).

They also had issues which troubled them and they saw the hand of God. No human being, who is alive is problem free.

In different situations people had cried to God

Reading from Psalms 107:

107:27 They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wit’s end.

107:28 Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses.

107:29 He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.

107:30 Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven. (Psalm 107 : 27-30).

A man in trouble could be confused and might act foolishly, and some have wagged their tongues aganist God. You will note the Israel experiencece as we move ahead. So when the waves are high, we must know it is a possible time to sin or express our righteous stand before God.

Paul was being taken a prisoner to Rome to stand before Caeser. In the wave of this  probem God used him to deliver the inmates of the shipwreck and healed the father of Publius.

Same God is a healer to those who do not know Him. He is the maker of all creatures and His compassion fail not.

‘And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him.”  (Acts 28:8)

Will He not deliver those who trust in Him?

This question comes to you and me.

ISRAEL AT THE BANK OF THE RED SEA!

Reading from Exodus Chapter 14 :

14:10 And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto the LORD.

14:11 And they said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt?

14:12 Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.

14:13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. (Exodus 14:10-13).

And note God’s tremendous appearance.

Israel put behind them the fright of the Red Sea, and reading from Exodus Chapter 14 again from

verse 14: The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

verse 15 And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward: abd in

verse16 “But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.” (Exodus 14 : 14-16).

OUR CONTEMPORARY EXPERIENCES:

You know that Israel indeed walked across the Red Sea. They had no boat or ship and you could imagine how about 6 million adults and children crossed a sea, which sometimes the horizon appears to sink at infinity. Is this  different when we behold problems today in our lives,  which we imagine may never have an end? We often have our own Red Sea. Same Jesus tells the waves ” Peace be still”

These waves are problems. God will see us through. Let us keep believing in His mighty power.

And we can tell the waves in our lives ” “Peace be still in Jesus name Amen”.
