No Nation Is Delivered By The Multitudes, But By God.

No Nation Is Delivered By The Multitudes, But By God.

People think what wins a battle is gang up.

Jesus said :  “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.” (John 15 : 5).

We can do nothing without God, if He allows evil to be done through you,  it is for a purpose for which you must bear the repercussions. We must beware. Think about Judas!

Many Asian countries today count their population in billions of people. Israel counts their population in millions. So these multitudes feel they can squeeze them . Some boast to say Israel is not a nation. But unfortunately, those they say are  not a nation,  are  still surviving, despite their build up of weapons and all levels of aggression and terrorism against them.

Take these biblical examples :

  1. The Amorites against Israel.

Read the following : Joshua 9: 10 -11, Joshua 10 : 5-10.

9:10 And all that he did to the two kings of the Amorites, that were beyond Jordan, to Sihon king of Heshbon, and to Og king of Bashan, which was at Ashtaroth.

9:11 Wherefore our elders and all the inhabitants of our country spake to us, saying, Take victuals with you for the journey, and go to meet them, and say unto them, We are your servants: therefore now make ye a league with us. (Joshua 9 10 -11)

The Gibeonites fearing Israel,  had made a truce with them to be loyal. This angered the kings of the Amorites who formed a league to fight them. Gibeon cried to Israel for help.

This is the story in extracts of what happened :

Reading from Joshua :

10:5 Therefore the five kings of the Amorites, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, the king of Eglon, gathered themselves together, and went up, they and all their hosts, and encamped before Gibeon, and made war against it

10:6 And the men of Gibeon sent unto Joshua to the camp to Gilgal, saying, Slack not thy hand from thy servants; come up to us quickly, and save us, and help us: for all the kings of the Amorites that dwell in the mountains are gathered together against us.

10:11 And it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, and were in the going down to Bethhoron, that the LORD cast down great stones from heaven upon them unto Azekah, and they died: they were more which died with hailstones than they whom the children of Israel slew with the sword. (Joshua 10:5,6,11).

It was indeed a bad day for the five  kings of the Amorites. May God fight for His children in Jesus name Amen.

  1. In the reign of Jehoshophat :

The people of Ammon, Moab and  Mount Seir came against Judah.  This was a league of 3 nations against one.

Note the biblical record :

Read 2 Chronicles 20: 10-25, but note specifically :

20:17 Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the LORD will be with you.

20:22 And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.

20:25 And when Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away the spoil of them, they found among them in abundance both riches with the dead bodies, and precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away: and they were three days in gathering of the spoil, it was so much. (2 Chronicles 20:17,22,25).

Numbers do not win battles, when God is not in control. If any man counts his strength on numerical preponderance to face battles and because of that  sets God aside, there will be  failure. May God stand for us always. Amen

(3) The Philistines, Their Army And Mighty Goliath, Came Against Israel.

God did not choose to use Saul, a man of war,  to face Goliath. He rather chose to use a shepherd boy to disgrace mighty Goliath.

Note the following scriptures :

1 Samuel 17 : 31-58.

Specifically :

17:49 And David put his hand in his bag, and took thence a stone, and slang it, and smote the Philistine in his forehead, that the stone sunk into his forehead; and he fell upon his face to the earth.

17:50 So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him; but there was no sword in the hand of David. (1 Samuel 17 : 49-50).

How can someone face a great warrior like Goliath, without a sword?  David did not have a sword. Goliath was described as six feet in circumference and nine feet tall. Even if David had a sword;  will he use it to trim the toes of Goliath?

David used the sword of Goliath instead  to cut off his head. The weapons which people use against their enemies may boomerang.

From the above three examples among several, in even present world examples, we note that God does win battles for His people. Therefore no nation will be saved through multitudes,  except GOD is in control.

Counting From Me And You ?

I do not know your experiences. But the encouragement I give us today is that no matter the people that might surround us,  let us believe in the power of God to save us. Live an upright life even in a fragile environment and trust God.

Many people are rising against christians all over the world because they feel they are helpless, but God is able to stop the wicked.

A man who wrote presumably against the validity of ancestral curses  tried to praise some successful nations today, who did great evil against humanity in past times.

He forgot that not all the inhabitants of those nations took part in the mayhem. Also ancestral curses are on individual families that did evil. No child will die for the sin of the father, if himself stays apart to obey God.

It  is possible to suggest that God will do  nothing about sins of nations committed in the past. It is totally untrue.

We owe it a duty to pray for the hand of God on all believers.  May God deliver us. No matter how they may gang up against you, the Lord is an ever present help in the time of need. Keep your faith in God and do good and He will stand for you here or in eternity.

Wicked people count on their wealth and men, but the righteous count on the grace of God to fight the numbers.

Reading from Nehemiah :

4:1 But it came to pass, that when Sanballat heard that we builded the wall, he was wroth, and took great indignation, and mocked the Jews.

4:2 And he spake before his brethren and the army of Samaria, and said, What do these feeble Jews? will they fortify themselves? will they sacrifice? will they make an end in a day? will they revive the stones out of the heaps of the rubbish which are burned? (Nehemiah 4:1-2).

These Persians saw the Jews as feeble to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. They were seen to be feeble in numbers and money. But the truth is that they completed re-building the walls and dedicated it.

Hannah  recognised the hopelessness of man without God,  when she  said:

2:8 He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD’s, and he hath set the world upon them.

2:9 He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail.  (1 Samuel 2 :,8-9).

Those who wish to kill you  so that they will take your posterity and other labours of your hands, which God has blessed you with, will utterly be put to shame. God will make you to stand in the congregation of His people to celebrate your victory to their hearing.

These enemies like the children of Moab,  Ammon and Mount Seir will kill themselves in their effort to drive you out of your God given land. The time is approaching. Wait upon the Lord.

May God enrich your life through this message of today. Amen.
