PRAYER THAT ENDS WARS.

The driving counsel of the message :
A people who gather at the war front facing the enemy with their little children and wives beside them, are surely not depending on themselves.

Judah did not depend on themselves, but depended upon the Lord in facing the three nations that came together to fight against them.

God hears the threats of our enemies and he sees their steps in action. The enemy makes some desperate decisions and knows the things he wants to see happening.

But no matter what an enemy wants to bring to pass, only God can actualise them. The wishes of the enemy can never be the wishes of God towards His called out children.

The children of Ammon, Moab and Mount Seir (children of Esau), came up against Judah in the reign of Jehoshophat for war. This attack was unprovoked. The people of Judah were not prepared, as most often, no one is really prepared when the enemy attacks.

The people of Judah prayed :
20:4 And Judah gathered themselves together, to ask help of the LORD: even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek the LORD.
20:13 And all Judah stood before the LORD, with their little ones, their wives, and their children. (2 Chronicles 20 : 4 , 13).
A people who gather at the war front facing the enemy with their little children and wives beside them are surely not depending on themselves. Judah did not depend on themselves, but depended upon the Lord.
The Lord answered and said througn His prophet :
20:14 Then upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, came the Spirit of the LORD in the midst of the congregation;
20:15 And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s. (2 Chronicles 20 : 14 – 15).

DO YOU KNOW WHO YOUR ENEMIES ARE?
Many times we see our enemies and even exchange unhappy words. The enemy you know is not the real enemy. The true enemy is one in sheep’s clothing, craftily packaged , even sitting with you on the conference table, but his heart is not with you.
You do not know them, but God is an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries, so long you are in Him, because in God you are taller than them, when you pray.

No matter how they pretend in hiding, God sees every enemy and importantly He sees the enemy of His children in a special way.
He told the children of Judah that the battle was not theirs.

GOD IS ABLE IN ALL SITUATIONS FOR HIS CHILDREN.
And to us my friends, the battle is not ours. The children of God in the land of exile told Nebuchadnezzar :
3:16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter.3:17 If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.” (Daniel 3 : 16 – 17).
It is history that these men went through the furnace unhurt.

NOTE THIS IN CONCLUSION :
5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. (James 5 : 16).
Fervent prayers avail much to give breakthroughs, which could manifest in healing, solutions, provision , protection etc.
May the Lord end our wars, even those hidden wars, we are not conscious of in Jesus name Amen.
