Any man who prays for the will of God to be done, has earnestly asked for all things Amen.
Concerning the will of God Jesus said the following, because doing the will of God was paramount in His schemes.
Even though He is 100% God/Man, He referred to the Father, while in this world, as the centre of His purpose. So He spoke of the will of God as follows :
(i) I do not seek my will John 5 : 30
5:30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me. (John 5 : 30).
We must draw bearing from Jesus that we can do nothing of ourselves without God.
(ii) Not to do my own will : John 6 : 38.
6:38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of Him that sent me. (John 6 :38).
If we should behave like Christ, we have to believe that we can do nothing without Him. So we should seek the will of God.
(iii) This is the will of God : John 6 : 39.
6:39 And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. (John 6 :39).
We will not get lost in the hand of Jesus, but we can get lost in our own will.
Anything which we do, will go well if we go by the will of God.
Going by the above, when the disciples asked Jesus to teach them how to pray He said thus to them, which is known as the Lord’s prayer:
“Our Father who art in heaven” as the major phrase and the major drive in that prayer Matt 6 : 6 :
6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. (Matthew 6 : 6)
Among other things in that prayer done in the closet, we should seek the will of the Father.
This is the crust of our prayer :
6:10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. (Matthew 6 :10).
The greatest prayer is to ask for the will of God to be done on earth as it is in heaven.
PRAYER SEEKING THE WILL OF OF GOD IS EFFICACIOUS.
No prayer made in this manner will go astray for it will please the Lord to act in any prayer seeking for His will to be done.
God’s will contains all of these:
(a) To heal the sick. He is Jehovah Rapha Lk. 4 : 18.
(b) To deliver the oppressed Lk. 4 :18
(c) To give eternal life; John 10 : 28; and to
(d) To make provision for the needs of men. He is Jehovah Jireh – Genesis 22 : 8.
Any man who prays for the will of God to be done, has earnestly asked for all things.
What ever we are desiring on earth has to be channelled to God for His will to be done.
There are many failures in the things done on the earth, because in a majority of cases, the will of God is or was not considered.
In Global arrangements, no one seeks the will of God, so nations and her people go about in science and medical discoveries, not seeking the face of God. No wonder we have many failed researches that must be repeated after some alarming catastrophies.
There Are Needed Changes In Prayer Pattern.
This year we should seek the will of God in all things, no matter how rosy the idea may seem, as a person, please seek the will of God.
God will reveal His will, when we ask Him. But God is never in a hurry to give answers to prayers concerning His will, but He is prompt when there is an urgency.
When God called Abraham he was 75, God was ready to enter into a covenant with Abraham, only after 24 years, at the time Abraham was 99.
Read Genesis 17 : 1 – 8. It takes great patience to wait for the will of God, so real this could be, but His will is perfect when received.
When actions do not fit into the will of God there could be draggings in the result. It may be necessary to go back to the drawing board seeking the will of God.
God is a carpenter and a bricklayer and so He can repair our damaged houses.
The time of jumping into opportunities without seeking the will of God should be over, if we must have real success achieved.
God knows the end from the beginning. We often see the beginning of things, but the end is shielded by time. Only God knows the beginning and the end and that is why we should ask for His will in all respects.
We should follow the man who knows the way and who makes a way, where there appears to be no way.
