15:11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.
15:12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
15:14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. (John 15 : 11 – 14).
The greatest love which a man can show to his friends is to lay down one’s own life down for such friends. This Jesus did for us all. He expects nothing else from us than that we should keep His commandndnts.
Christ took the nature of man in His humanity. He was crucified for the cause of sin.
So the death all humanity should have faced, because of sin, led Christ to the crucifix. He was crucified. Those who die in their sins after this ultimate sacrifice, have made a choice of death.
What have you suffered for the cause of the cross? What pleasures have you denied yourself, to recognise the death of Christ for your sake?
And He said to us in John 15:14: “Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. (John 15 : 11 – 14).
This is is a new day.
