Highlight : Why do you call me Lord, Lord and do not do the will of the Father.?
The purpose of being in this life, needs to be understood. If the purpose is to be born, grow up, make progress and become whatever, die, get buried, without God being glorified in life, the purpose of living is not fruitful.
Man is created by God, for more than all these.
Jesus said:
6:38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. (John 6 : 38).
Jesus told us that He came to do the will of the Almighty God. Thus we His followers must also do the will of God.
Do you seek to find out if you are living in the will of God? May God help us!
What then is the will of God?
6:39 And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. (John 6 : 39).
If God called us to Himself , we must engage in soul winning just as Jesus did. We must go into the purpose for which we are called.
We can not do our own will, but the will of God.
All what it takes to do the will of God should be our priority. There can be no comfort in doing the will of God. When we do our own will, we seek the comfort zone.
We need the knowledge of His will.
No man can do the will of God without the knowledge of His will. It is not easy to do God’s will, because it could put pressure on our own will.
We need prayer of the saints to walk worthy of God’s will. Do you recognise that? God’s will must cost you something.
We need patience to stay in the battle against selfwill and we need perfect knowledge, of His will, in the assignment we are following.
Note this scripture:
1:9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
1:10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; (Colossians 1 : 9 – 10)
Our forerunners understood the need for prayer for God’s people, that they may walk worthy of the assignment
Often the knowledge, we need is spiritual. The tendency to be misled in this walk God abound and without knowledge, which should be perfect knowledge, there is the likelihood of diversion.
If Jesus worked not on His own will, we who are human must seek His perfect will on daily basis.
We have so much deceit of satan in the vineyard. That things are going well in the eye of man does not mean the will of God is followed. Joshua spoke about good success (Joshua 1 : 8). Success is good, if achieved in the will of God.
Thus, we must pray for God’s light to shine around us to uncover satan’s misleadings..
Christ said:
5:30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me. (John 5 :30)
He questioned those who do not do His will, while calling Him Lord
6:46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? (Luke 6 : 46)
Beloved saints in Christ, let us keep Christ as our example. There is no way we can make heaven withiut walking and working in the way of God.
There is so much wave now, that people are walking in the will of men without the Holy Spirit leading them.
Christ said to do the will of God is His utmost, that He will not lose anyone the Father draws to Him. This should also be our concern.
Our prayer today:
Lord God, grant me and all the people of God the grace to walk in thy will Amen.
This month of October 2023, shall be the launching pad of many great blessings that will come to pass in your life from today and in years to come in Jesus name Amen.
