A message to fresh matriculants at Miracle Valley Comprehensive College and Seminary.
Amakor / Obeakpu, Njaba LGA Imo State.
April 15 , 2022.
I greet Our Lord Jesus Christ on this auspicious occasion and others present i.e.
the Chairnan of our Children Occasions, Hon . B. S. A. Ofoego, the members of the Board of PTA and their Chairman Mr. Martin Emezie, Members of the clergy, the Governing Council, the Ezes, Distinguished men and women, parents of matriculating students, our academics faculty, at Miracle Valley Comprehensive College and Seminary, with special mention of the Principal, Rev. Pastor (Mrs.) Festa Unanma and the Director of Administration, Rev. Pastor New Word Mbabuike and the blessed students of the school.
I bring to you today an important message, at this occasion, a message which remains all time unavoidable, but which is not given preeminence, in the schemes of the generality of men.
THIS MESSAGE REMINDS US : ONLY JESUS CAN SAVE ACTS ( 4 :12).
Note the things that cannot save men:
- Money : money answereth all things, but it has failed many people at desperate points in life (Ecclesiastes 10:19).
- Friends : when the corpse stinks friends who you think are better than your brothers will disappear.
- Power of your own or powerful people around you: It is never by Power, but by His Spirit. (Zechariah 4 :6). Do not trust the arm of flesh.
- Strong family background : Only God is the best of backgrounds.
- Medical knowledge or you are even a doctor: God remains your healer. Trust Him for the extras beyond men.
None of the above has actually saved any man as noted. (Acts 4 : 12)
People may have all of the above and even more, yet have not come out from many life threatning problems and concerns.
THEREFORE TRUST IN THE LORD.
Read the following:
11:28 He that trusteth in his riches shall fall; but the righteous shall flourish as a branch. (Proverbs 11 :28)
28:26 He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered. (Proverbs 28 : 26).
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO WALK WISELY?
OBEDIENCE IS THE ONE SINGLE ACTION, THAT WILL NEVER FAIL ANY MAN. THEREFORE, STAY IN THE QUEUE OF OBEDIENCE, NO SHIFTING , NO COMPLAINING, IN THAT MODE, YOU WILL BE WALKING WISELY.
TIME WILL REVEAL THOSE WHO ARE WISE AND THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN FOOLISH.
Across the world today, many people are at their various bus stops and cross roads looking for help.
Those who they expect to help them are also in similar problems like them or even in worse situations. Things which they have are also disappointing them.
Therefore trust that BEING and that BEING is GOD, who will never die.
MY ADMONITION SPECIFIC :
To our matriculating students.
And while in this school keep glued to God.
Make Jesus your first friend and your books a second friend. A good friend is a faithful companion.
Let Jesus teach you through your Bible, which we give you today. The Bible is your first grade companion.
Go with your books at all times, I think he should be under your pillow at night, so when you turn round at night he is near, read him, write on him at the corners, of what you must remember and practise, which this “book” used in masculine expression ( as he), draws to your attention.
Many of you are asking for clothes and shoes without asking for textbooks. You are asking for big phones, when you do not have your textbooks and so cannot solve simple mathematics.
Some are making friends and running around with them, while time is passing away. Boycott all boycottables please, right from this matriculation groumd.
The phones are not leading you to Christ and will not write your examinations or give you first class jobs, which come from your intellectual exposure. However, your books: whether academic books or the Bible will lead you to greatness.
Boy friends or girl friends will not be true agents of an exalted future. Beware.
Note that if you do not have God in your life you surely have nothing. Time will explain all things.
How can you walk with a companion who is not by your side? Two cannot walk together unless they be agreed. Agree with your God while following after your books.
Learn to be wise.
I wish you the best in this College and may your future be great.
Many, many thanks to God, for the opportunity I have to talk to all of you.
His Servant,
Rev. (Dr.) Prof. P. C . Nnaocha.
Rector/Dean Miracle Valley Schools.
