Ezra speakng to the children of Judah and Benjamin said :
9:9 For we were bondmen; yet our God hath not forsaken us in our bondage, but hath extended mercy unto us in the sight of the kings of Persia, to give us a reviving, to set up the house of our God, and to repair the desolations thereof, and to give us a wall in Judah and in Jerusalem.
9:10 And now, O our God, what shall we say after this? for we have forsaken thy commandments,
9:11 Which thou hast commanded by thy servants the prophets, saying, The land, unto which ye go to possess it, is an unclean land with the filthiness of the people of the lands, with their abominations, which have filled it from one end to another with their uncleanliness.
This was the issue of the returnees from captivity. It is not different among us, who talk about God today.
THE STATE OF THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL
While in bondage the Lord showed the children of Israel mercy. But in that condition they broke the laws of God. In other words they never departed from their sins. but added other sins such as taking strange wives. Read Ezra Chapter 10.
CONTEMPORARY BELIEVERS.
In the midst of great tribulation in this world, God is showing compassion to all humanity. Yet are people not deepening in sins never heard of in the time of our fathers?
Surprisingly, both the laymen and some clergy have made great names for themselves, while living in sacrilegious lives.
God is watching, not that He is weak, to exert His vengeance.
Examine yourself whether in your troubles due to your sins, whether you have added other sins.
Beloved friends , we have to be sure we are not adding other sins to our lives while in this state of desperation in this world.
The children of Judah and Benjamin were asked to put away such foreign wives which they acquired while in the land of bondage.
Will you put away other sins you have added to your life?
Some say whether they sin or not they will die.
YES, BOTH THE RIGHTEOUS AND THE UNRIGHTEOUS WILL DIE.
But some forget that the process to die is not easy and the bible ssys “it will not be well with the wicked”
There is hell for the wicked and hell is never a place for pleasure. So every man must strive to avoid hell.
The day of judgement is closing up daily. The signs of the end are coming unabated. People are dieing daily, the time was not known to those who died.
There is nothing to brag about beloved brethren in this life for all is but vanity.
The end of time is crawling like a thief in the night. We must strive to boycott all evils.
Heaven will not accommodate people, who have departed from the right course of the Lord.
AND WHAT IS HAPPENING AMONG US.
We are praying for deliverance from oppression and people are committing more and more sins in our land.
People are enriching themselves through sin.
A man whose house is on fire should not be pursuing rats.
Our young children , both boys and girls are enriching themselves through sinful activities and the parents are sharing in the booty.
What do we expect will happen next?
LET US SEEK THE MERCY OF THE LORD NOW.
This is the time. We must be mindful of our salvation, there will be no excuse to give, because when the night comes, no man can work.
