People who worship God anyhow call Him Lord, Lord, but do not follow Him in principles.
Jesus questioned this as we read below.
There is need for Christian Foundation
Those who go to school start from :
– primary school to
– secondary school.
Then some branch out to learn a trade.
Some from secondary go to the university.
These processes give people a good foundation in whatever they do in life..
Some will skip all these steps and no matter how good they are naturally, they will not shine.in whatever they do.
Jesus touched these thing’s indirectly.
So reading from Luke’s gospel :
6:46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
6:47 Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:
6:48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
6:49 But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great. (Luke 6 : ,46 – 49).
Those who hear the word of God and do them are building their salvation journey on a rock.
Note this again, such people are building their salvation on the Rock and not on sand.
When temptations come in their lives they will be capable to stand.
But those who do not apply God’s word do not have any foundation and in time of temptation they will backslide. They have built on sand.
If you are a Christian be a Christian. because you will be tried. not only as a child of God but naturally, you will face problems which you cannot overcome except you lived by the word of God righteously and by prayer..
May God help us never to.mock God’s Word for He will not hold us guiltless.
