Something which will help people to know God better is to understand the meaning of the church as distinct from denomination.
The church are people who are called out by God as a distinct people for Him from the world.
They form the Bride of Christ irrespective of their denomination.
All the buildings with tagged names such as Rock High Church or Throne of God Mercy Church, are denominations of believers, who worship God, and the church of Christ are people among them.
We cannot worship under one roof or one denomination, but where ever people worship the Lord in righteousness, Jesus selects and separates them to form the Church or His bride. These people are one and one in denominations across the world.
And Jesus said :
6:35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
6:36 But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not.
6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. (John 6 : 35-37).
God knows His children or the church, who are scattered among denominations.
Each of them are there for Christ. Some are brought to the reality of God by circumstance
.Yet there are many who have been chosen and called out from a mammoth of people, who have gone different ways.
God’s children obey Him wherever they are .
Jesus will not cast out anyone who comes to Him in faith and obedience..
Paul earlier called Saul vexed the Church, but God called him out for a greater service for Him.
9:3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:
9:4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me
9:5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
9:6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do. (Acts 9 : 3 -/6).
THE CALL OF GOD IS FOR A PURPOSE SPECIFIC FOR THE KINGDOM.
The call of God can be irresistible. It could be difficult to believe that Saul who was present at the death of Stephen the first martyr can be real.
GOD IS THE ONE IN CHARGE.OF
THE GREAT COMMISSION .
28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. (Matthew 28 : 19 – 20).
God wants us to spread His teaching to the people. Those who accept the message will not be cast out.
The early believers did not find it easy to receive Saul.
He had asked the Lord ‘” What would You want me to do?
Today many are walking into the faith and some are walking out.
Some are rejecting, some have taken the way of the heathens.
Many people who hitherto loved God have become gay and many have become sorcerers and some astrologers and star gazers in the temples called temple of God by them.
All these are the selection process by God , make no mistake about what you see.
Do not follow them for the time is too short to walk out and return without being lost.
Look at this Scripture :
3:17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. (2 Peter 3 : 17 – 18)
IN OUR CURRENT BRAG – BRAG CHRISTIANITY.
Many have denied the faith after being in the faith.
Many who have been baptised unto Christ, who have taken the holy communion, are going back to the ancestors
God is selecting His church for the rapture.
Do not mistake this that apostates were once in the body of faith but are now people who have been rejected by the Lord.
Some of the seven churches in the book of Revelation denied their faith. Some of them are among the other faiths today.
God rejected them.
You must stand firm not to be like them.
Keep your faith.
Do not. reject your selection.
Your denomination is not the church, but you are the church in your denomination.
Do not get lost in the crowd of denominationalism.
But stand out in your faith for Christ where ever you are.
Note this:
3:7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;
3:8 I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name. (Revelation 3 : 7 – 8).
Let us be like Philadelphia in the midst of people who have walked into the bush.
Let us pray this prayer:
: Oh Lord pass me not as you go about selecting your people in Jesus name.Amen.
