IF MY PEOPLE !

PRAYER COUPLED WITH  FAITH IN GOD’S WORD.

MIRACLE VALLEY 2nd February, 2020.

Prologue :

I want to believe that as Christians, we  have woken up  to pursue the “if” clause in the foregoing to stand to  face our current challenges in country.

This message is taking us back to the genesis, so we may think round in all ways, as we struggle to live our faith. God is truely faithful and is just and righteous all way.

The Message

There is always the “if” in certain areas of man’s relationship with God. This ” if” places several conditionalities for men to receive from God.

As we pray we must be guided by scriptures.

We will draw references from scriptures as God spoke to Israel.

(1)  Deut. 28:1 “And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: (Deuteronomy 28:1).

(2) 2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7 : 14).

We are ending the three days fast of Christians throughout Nigeria today,  2nd February 2020, seeking the face of  God to deliver Nigerians from the scourge of insecurity .

The following is our sermon at this end, to encourage and stimulate ourselves, as we pray  today at Miracle Valley.

We must draw from the above scriptures that God will not  look at all  Christians in order to answer this  prayer and the  fasting. God will definitely look at the few that find His favour in order to deliver Nigeria.

In discussion with Abraham this question was raised:

Genesis18:23 “And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked?

God is a righteous God and we pray that this condition will be placed over our land, that He will not  punish the righteous together with the unrighteous.

Because this nation had strayed God might  for the sake of fifty and even fifty less five deliver our land.

Gen.18:24  Per adventure there be fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein?

Gen.18:26 And the LORD said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes.

THE NIGERIAN SITUATION :

I feel God might find this fifty in Nigeria, even be they  infants,  who He has ordained from their mother’s wombs for the cause of the gospel and the salvation of men. I fear our elders may have offended God which left us with sorrow.

We have prayed, but those who are surrounded by enemies must be watchful.

We must continue in godly sorrow. Such a disposition is an indespenable warhead AGAINST all life situations. God will fight for us.

Secondly We must note this:

Isaiah 59:1 : “Behold, the LORD’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:

59:2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

59:3 For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.

59:4 None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.

THIS IS WHERE WE STAND TODAY AS WE END OUR FAST TODAY DECLARED BY CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA (CAN).

We will not stop our prayers from our own end , but we will continue to seek the face of God, perchance our sins will  be forgiven for it is what holds back the hands of God.

Let no one reading this sermon see me  as pessimistic. We deal with the INCOMPREHENSIBLE GOD, and He is the one that answers prayers.

By Faith we ask for mercy and each time we pray we stand at the throne of mercy.

Let us cry in our gatherings today. Today’s sunday service as I am  concerned,  would have been one of wearing sack cloth. But we can wear sack cloth in our hearts.

OUR STAND BEFORE OUR GOD TODAY

Psalm 22:5 “They cried unto thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded.

Psalm 22:24: “For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard.”

Here is our anchor after these prayers in Nigeria.

CLOSING PRAYER FROM MIRACLE VALLEY.

ALL PRAYING PEOPLE SHOULD HAVE THEIR OWN CLOSING CRY AS THEY ARE LED BY THE LORD.

My Prayer/ Your prayer :

So take glory Lord Jesus , as we your  children have cried in  great pain and sought your face with a repentant heart throughout our whole nation Nigeria. Your word holds that you will not leave your children for the foe.

We thank You Lord for the opportunity to STAND BEFORE You in Jesus Amen.

Jesus came to save and in heaven is interceeding for us. It is our portion.
