Song from SS&S : 224 Rejoice and be glad , the Redeemer has come.
Theme of the message :
The phrase: “Shall I go an empty handed”, should concern each man on earth, rather than disputing whether Christ will come again. He will surely come back again. Those who are dieng today, He has already come in their lives. Let us rejoice and be glad about His Second Coming. It is what separates christianity from all religions.
You should go for evangelism to win a soul who you will present to Him when He returns in His glory.
First reading from the Bible : (1 Thess. 4 : 11 – 18 )
Someone said to me………. !
Number One :
When will this your Jesus come again; we have been hearing about this for too long. This was like mocking me.
Number Two.
In scriptures some had said among themseles after doing evil :
Will God see, hear, know or chastise? Read from Psalm 94 :
94:6 They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless.
94:7 Yet they say, The LORD shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob regard it.
94:8 Understand, ye brutish among the people: and ye fools, when will ye be wise?
94:9 He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see?
94:10 He that chastiseth the heathen, shall not he correct? he that teacheth man knowledge, shall not he know?
94:11 The LORD knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity. (Psalm 94 : 6 – 11).
Discussing the above two misgivings of men,
Let us know :
(1) That Jesus is coming again. He has promised and He will never fail to come back, to receive and reward those who have waited patiently for Him. (Read Acts 1 : 8 – 11).
Some who asked me when is this my Jesus coming again have died.
Except they had repented later before death, they will wait in their graves for the second resurrection of the dead to face God.
Those who have been faithful about His coming, if they are still alive, will wait for His return and if dead, will remain in paradise waiting for His Second Coming to meet with His own in the sky -(1 Thessalonians 4 : 16 – 17)
In other words those who believe or believe not, will witness the Second Coming of Jesus, in their own forms, either for heaven or for hell.
In number two from above:
Many have done great evil in this world and say : “Will God hear, see, know, or correct their evil?”
God calls them brutes. If I understand English well, I think brutes are animals of least degree. Yet many who voice such great swelling words, are often respected individuals, and God sees their nothingness and calls them brutes.
Read 2 Peter as it refers :
2:18 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error. 2 Peter 2 18)
It is this greatt people in this world, who God calls BRUTES. and yet as brutes, they think and say the kind of things which they say.
And God replies them to their folly saying : Will He that made the eye not see, will he that planted the ear not hear, will He that giveth knowledge not know, and will He that chastiseth the heathens not correct?
OPINION OF MEN WOULD BE DETRIMENTAL.
A man may close his mind to reason. That behaviour does not suggest that God will not judge the world according to His written Word.
God is not pleased that human beings have rejected His benevolence. It is in the mind of God to give everlasting home to those who obey Him, but surely the wicked and those who know not the Lord, will be kept outside and these people the Lord God calls dogs.
Read Revelations 22:
22:15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. (Revelation 22 :15).
If a man foresees danger like this and does not take action, he cannot say he was not warned.
Look at the category of people who will suffer in hell:
They are :
(1) whoremongers (immoral people),
(2) murderers, idolaters (those who worship idols or use demons or go with mediums)
(3) and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie ( false witnesses, our lawyers and traitors).
If you are in any of the above you are questioning the Lord God. He will surely implement His program on erring generations.
And He cautioned Israel :
30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: (Deuteronomy 30 :19).
Do not be deceived to localise the message on Israel alone on earth. It is for all generations for we do not have two gods; we have one God
Let us choose life by worshipping the Almighy God, who created all things.
Prayer :
Save me Lord from this wayward generation. I want to have eternal life, Lord save my soul.
