THE WORDS OF THE ELDERS.

A thought provoking message for our generation and specially  to them that fear God.

When I was young our elders taught us great lessoms of life , under the moonlight. It was called ” Tales by moonlight”.

Calling it a tale might mean it was a package of lies, fables or untruths. Yes as it was called so, but  it drove into our memory those things we must cherish or abhore.

Today such lessons have disappeared under several human philosophies, which are  leading many nations and peoples.

Thus, sin and godlessness, captained by Satan, rules this world.

Most youths have therefore grown to be adults, without a  fundamental foundation in God led wisdom.

In our modern days with our great religion of Christianity, there are  lots of lessons in Proverbs and the Psalms and some Bible history, we must never afford to set aside.

In that respect, we must read these books, to receive wisdom from above.

Thus,  in this world of men, many have become leaders,  without home grown philosophy and in their great wealth, they are adorned by foolishness and led away to shame, because they had overly  becone godless.

THE WORDS OF OUR ELDERS.

My elders , the Igbos, have this adage, ” If a goat, follows a dog on a journey, it will eat shit.”

DO NOT BE LED BY A PERSON WHO IS NOT BETTER THAN YOU IN ALL HOLINESS, OR YOU WILL EAT SHIT.

The goat is described as a foolish domestic animal by my people. The Igbos are a people South East of Nigeria. The goat is not as wise as the lamb, in many fundamental matters of life.

It is widely said within the society and of course this is  a scriptural truth,  that evil communication corrupts good manners.

Are you a Pastor, the Jesus undershepherd and you feel the only way to make impact in society is to join them?

Note that by the time you return to the abandoned vineyard,  all the field, will  be overgrown by weed and you need catepillars and bulldozers to re-enter the field.

It will be hard to believe, whether  you are going to be relevant to the Lord, for having gone through a territory of mud slinging, I hope  the period of  cleansing yourself to be relevant again to the Lord, will not  be more  than  the remaining part of your life.

FOR AN APOSTATE TO RETURN TO THE LORD AGAIN WITH GREAT STEAM, CANNOT BE DIFFERENT FROM THE ABOVE ALLEGORY.

In the same vein a son, who had become prodigal and later returns  home, should know that seeds planted today must  go through a defineed lifespan to begin to bear fruit.

LET US TAKE NOTE THAT IT WILL TAKE GREAT DIVINE INTERVENTION FOR THE TIME LOST TO BE REGAINED.

All the name calling here on earth, all the acquisition of chattels in vainglory, will not purchase eternal life.

Jesus asked what will a man give in exchange for his life.

16:26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?  (Matthew 16 : 26).

The goat following the dog for a journey,  or the servant of God abandoning his father’s vineyard are done in  pursuit of acclaim, to satisfy an earthly  ambition and not service to God,

The greater service are not greetings in high tone names, but the secret recognition of service by God.

Note how Jesus sees this rat race of life:

23:5 But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,23:6 And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues,23:7 And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi. (Matthew 23 : 5 – 7).

Do not leave the pinnacle of God, for the pinnacle of death, where many have compromised their faith and commitment to the srrvices to God.

Jesus said ” let the dead bury the dead.”
